40 Years Ago - 1985 Dionne Warwick released her album Friends.

The album features one of the true definition of schmaltz, "That's What Friends Are For." First recorded by Rod Stewart in 1982 for the Night Shift Soundtrack, Dionne sang with (her friends) Elton JOhn, Gladys Knight, and Stevie Wonder. It was released as a chairty single for AIDS research, and won the Grammys for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals and Song of the Year. Schmaltzy as it is, it did raise more than $3 Million. It was #1 across the board at Hot 100, AC, and R&B.
This is a perfectly nice, comfy 80s album.
