1985 - Around the World in a Day - Prince

35 Years Ago - 1985 Prince released his seventh album Around the World in a Day.

This was the follow-up to Purple Rain and went in a psychedelic direction.

Prince's wished to "let the project be taken in its entirety before zeroing in on anything", the record company released the album with minimal publicity, withholding accompanying singles until almost a month after the album's release.

And that single was "Raspberry Beret" which peaked at #2, #3 R&B, #40 Mainstream Rock.

"Pop Life" made #7 and was his eighth top-ten in two years.

"America" made #46 and #35 R&B.
