45 Years Ago - 1979 Rupert Holmes released his fifth album Partners in Crime.
This album featured all of his Top 40 hits. All of them are story songs.
"Escape (The Pina Colada Song)" was the last #1 of the 1970s and the first of the 1980s making it the first to be #1 in two decades. It also made #8 AC. The song was composed mainly as filler and never expected to be a single.
I recommend reading his books, they are entertaining, and if you can find it, the Remember WENN TV show.
