45 Years Ago - 1978 Grease: The Original Soundtrack from the Motion Picture was released.
It has sold over 30 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling albums of all time, also ranking among the biggest selling soundtrack albums of all time.
The band Sha Na Na performed many of the 50s songs.
The first three singles were written for the film.
