1978 - 52nd Street - Billy Joel

45 Years Ago - 1978 Billy Joel released his sixth album 52nd Street.

I wore this one out.

The album won Grammy's for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Vocal Performance Male.

Four singles were released,

"My Life" had Chicago members Peter Cetera and Donnie Dacus doing backing vocals. It was also used as the theme song for Bosom Buddies (but with a different vocalist.) But don't expect to see it on the VHS or syndicated versions due to licensing issues. It hit #3 Hot 100 and #2 AC.

"Big Shot" inspired by a dinner with Mick and Bianca Jagger peaked at #14.

"Until the Night" was only released in the UK and made #50 on the charts there.

"Honesty" was Grammy nominated for Song of the Year. It peaked at #24 and #9 AC.
