50 Years Ago 1972 The O'Jays released Back Stabbers. This was their breakthrough album featuring 2 of their biggest hits!
Singles released were "992 Arguments" (#57 #13 R&B), "Back Stabbers" (#3 #1 R&B), "Love Train" (#1 on both Hot 100 and R&B), and "Time To Get Down" (#33 #2 R&B.)
Recorded at Philadelphia's Sigma Sound Studios, the house band MFSB provided the backing, and some have said it's the pinnacle of the Philly Soul.
