Celebrate Pearl Harbor Remembrance, Illinois (21st State 1818), Cotton Candy, World Trick Shot, International Civil Aviation, and Letter Writing Day.
Trick Shot day is tied to The Harlem Globetrotters. Bonus useless fact, Pope John Paul II was an honorary Harlem Globetrotter.

It's hard to buy a gift for someone who already has everything, so here are some ideas.
In a new poll, people were asked what gifts you can always fall back on, and chocolate was the #1 answer, with 58% of people saying it's "universally accepted."
Holiday gift baskets are second, followed by gift cards, clothing accessories like hats, mittens, and slippers, socks, seasonal popcorn, pajamas, self-care items, cash, and "food."
63% of Americans have received a duplicate gift for the holidays, which is one reason why a gift you can eat is great. Two chocolates are better than one.
For what it's worth, 58% of people claim they're easy to buy for, while 5% admit they're "impossible" to shop for.

New casting has been announced for the upcoming "Live in Front of a Studio Audience" special, and it's pretty great.
Jennifer Aniston will play the snooty rich girl Blair Warner in the "Facts of Life" episode. Gabrielle Union will play Tootie, Kathryn Hahn will play the tough chick Jo, and Allison Tolmannwill play Natalie.
Yes, these are all adult women playing teenagers. But that's what they're doing in the "Diff'rent Strokes" episode, too with Kevin Hart as Arnold and Damon Wayans as Willis.
Ann Dowd will play Mrs. Garrett on both episodes.
The show airs on ABC tonight.

There's a secret weapon for preventing holiday weight gain, and it isn't exercise . . . eating smart or Photoshop. It's prunes.
In a new study, researchers from the University of Liverpool found that eating prunes helped some dieters control their appetite, consume fewer calories, and even lose slightly more weight than people not eating prunes.
They gave groups of people different foods to snack on in-between meals, and those who were given prunes were more likely to feel less hungry throughout the day, and then eat fewer calories during their next meal.
They also tracked how much weight the dieters lost over a 12-week period and those who were eating prunes lost slightly more weight, about one pound more, than the people who were snacking on something else.
That may not seem like a lot over 12 weeks, but the prune-eaters did report that it felt "easier" to lose the weight than those in the other groups.
