You did get your clocks changed? Now dealing with it getting dark at 5pm.

According to a recent poll, 54% of Americans would love to see the clock-changing done away with for good.  40% want to keep it . . . but according to reports, support for time-changes is at its lowest level in history.

In the latest poll, 56% of Americans favor year-round Daylight Saving Time (summer hours), while 42% prefer Standard Time.

I'm all for the lighter later option. Would be interesting in the deep of winter seeing the sun rise late in the 8pm hour is some places.

Diane Ladd, Laura Dern's mother, dies at 89.

Ladd earned the first of her three Oscar nominations for Martin Scorsese's 1974 drama "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore," playing a matter-of-fact diner waitress named Flo who befriends Ellen Burstyn's widowed heroine. She also received supporting actress nods in the early 1990s for David Lynch's "Wild at Heart" and Martha Coolidge's "Rambling Rose," both of which co-starred Dern.

TV dinners were created in 1953, because Swanson ordered too many turkeys that year?

They had all this leftover meat . . . so rather than throw it away, the company put out frozen turkey dinner trays, with one side dish and a dessert that was easy to reheat.  But the popularity of those TV dinners slowly faded away.

Here are some other old-school frozen foods that no one eats anymore.

(I question some of these..maybe not as prevelant, but some are still out there)

1.  Fried clam strips

2.  French bread pizza

3.  Salisbury steak

4.  Frozen orange juice concentrate

5.  Fish sticks

6.  Frozen breakfast platters

7.  Kid Cuisine dinners

8.  Boca burgers (overshadowed by other non-meat options)

9.  Frozen chow mein (I remember the one in the can..which isn't good)

10.  Welsh rarebit.

See the list here.

A social media post is going viral, which says, "General Mills hires you, and you have to decide which component to eliminate from Chex Mix.  Which is the first to go?"

There are six classic options:  Wheat chex . . . corn chex . . . square pretzel . . . circle pretzel . . . mini breadstick . . . and rye chip / cracker.

ree

And it struck a nerve, because thousands of people weighed in.  Here are some of the most popular comments:

"Easy:  Mini breadstick.  Next question."

"One of the pretzels.  You don't need two."

"Square pretzel.  It hurts the roof of your mouth if eaten wrong!"

"Mini breadstick or a pretzel.  I guess circle pretzel.  Wow.  I took way too long thinking about this."

"Circle pretzel.  We already have the square, and it's got more crunch."

"The rye cracker, any day."  Rye actually took a LOT of heat early on.

"Rye chip.  They're gross and look like diseased toenails."

"The rye chip.  I feed that to my dog, and he doesn't like them."

And then, the rye DEFENDERS stormed in.  "There are two types of people:  Those who think rye chips are the best part and then people who are wrong."

"Y'all hating on rye chip for no reason.  It's the best one here."

"The rye chip has divided the internet."

"Rye chip stays.  Bagel chip comes back, and replaces the square pretzel."

"The breadstick.  Replace it with more rye chips."

"Give us the OG recipe with chex, pretzels, and peanuts.  That's it."

Today’s Useless Fact of the Day - The mascots on kids' cereal boxes, like Tony the Tiger, are drawn so their eyes are looking slightly downward.  That's a trick to make sure that if the boxes are on a high shelf at the grocery store, the mascot is making eye contact with kids. (you know you will look the next time you're in the store.)
