From People Magazine

Serena the rescue turkey is a serious Swiftie, and she has a "Wi$h LiSt" of her own.

The bird, who resides at Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glen, NY, stands out among the rescue's residents for her deep devotion to Taylor Swift. The bird relaxes when she listens to the iconic singer/songwriter's music.

To prove Serena's fandom, Farm Sanctuary, a nonprofit haven for farm animals, shared a video of the bird listening to Swift's new album, The Life of a Showgirl. In the clip, Serena gently bobs to the song "WiSh Li$t".

According to the video, Serena's holiday wish list includes "sanctuary for all," no turkeys turned Thanksgiving dinner, love and kindness, and adopters for her and her Farm Sanctuary friends.

Since 1986, Farm Sanctuary has offered animal lovers the opportunity to symbolically adopt one of its rescued turkeys through its Adopt a Turkey Project. Adopters sponsor the turkey of their choice, donating funds that support the care and protection of rescue farm animals. The program is also an opportunity for Farm Sanctuary to raise awareness about meat-free holiday meals and animal rescue.

That classic green bean casserole, topped with fried onions, was not a traditional Pilgrim dish. It was invented in 1955 by a cook named Dorcas Reilly working for the Campbell Soup Company. Her goal was simply to create a recipe that used two ingredients already popular in every American household: condensed cream of mushroom soup and green beans.

Today’s Useless Fact of the Day - While European settlers in North America had long observed days of thanks, prayer, and reflection, the “first Thanksgiving” most often refers to a 1621 meal between the Pilgrims and the native Wampanoag people.

In 1863, Abraham Lincoln declared a national Thanksgiving Day on the final Thursday of November to be celebrated each year. A large meal shared with loved ones is the centerpiece of most Thanksgiving celebrations, where the average gathering size is seven and most people consume 3,150-4,500 calories.
