A comprehensive, worldwide survey talked to nearly 60,000 people in 20 countries and asked them if they were pet parents to dogs and / or cats.
Overall, 56% of people have a cat or a dog . . . cat ownership is more common than dog ownership globally, and slightly more men (52%) than women (48%) are cat owners.
The most popular breeds of dogs globally are: Labrador (6%), Chihuahua (6%), and Golden Retriever (5%). And the most popular cat breeds are: Persian (16%), British Shorthair (11%), and Siamese (9%)
The two main reasons people choose NOT to have dogs are: Unsuitable living conditions, like not having enough space or outdoor areas, and the significant time commitment it requires.
The two main reasons people do not have a cat are: They don't want their furniture damaged. And they are allergic to them.
Generally, not being around enough is also a concern. 32% of pet parents say they feel guilty about leaving their dogs and cats alone.
And some people wish it was easier to have pets where they live. Only 42% of pet parents say that their neighborhoods are pet-friendly. That said, the U.S. did rank as the most pet-friendly country.

Bathrobes are the hot new fashion trend for fall. Not a joke. "Vogue" magazine just endorsed the look.
Bathrobe-inspired dresses keep popping up on red carpets. Angelina Jolie just stepped out in a coat that looked like a bathrobe in New York this week.
A writer for "The New York Post" called it the latest in "post-pandemic unpretentiousness." After the lockdowns, we all stopped caring so much and just went for comfort.
So feel free to wear your robe to work, or to the grocery store this fall . . . no one will think you're nuts.
I'm all for the Dude look from The Big Lebowski!!!!!
(they are ...elevated.)

Over the summer, "Abbott Elementary" star and creator Quinta Brunson said she was working on a crossover that would, quote, "change television as we know it."
And now we know what it is: The show is doing a crossover episode with "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" this season.
"Sunny" star Rob McElhenney posted a picture on Instagram with Quinta and his co-star Charlie Day, and captioned it, "Oh. Hello."
Both shows are set in Philly, and both are under the Disney banner. "Abbott" is on ABC, and "Sunny" airs on FX.

A new report found the average employee wastes an incredible amount of time on activities that have nothing to do with their job.
The biggest time waster is streaming stuff or watching TV, and young people are the biggest culprits.
The average Gen Z'er watches just under 236 hours of TV a year while they're on the clock. Or almost 10 days' worth.
Based on the average hourly wage of $35 an hour, that's $8,241 worth of time spent watching TV.
For Gen X'ers, it's just under $7,000 a year. And Millennials spend the least amount of time watching TV at work, just $3,857 a year.
We waste time on other stuff too. The top time-wasters at work include watching TV . . . playing games . . . socializing . . . browsing the internet . . . and just relaxing or daydreaming.

A 36-year-old man in Wales broke into a woman's home and did all of her chores for her. It happened over the summer, but his trial was this week.
The woman who lived there was at work when he broke in on July 16th, hung her laundry out to dry . . . put her groceries away . . . and emptied her recycling.
He also tidied up her garden . . . refilled the bird feeders . . . organized her fridge . . . mopped the floors . . . put out a bottle of wine . . . cooked dinner . . . and left a note that said, "Don't worry, be happy, eat up."
His lawyer told the judge he was just homeless at the time and "undergoing a number of difficulties."
She stayed with a friend for two weeks until police caught him after he broke into another vacant house. He didn't do any chores that time, or didn't have time to. Someone showed up and kicked him out.
A judge sentenced him on Thursday to 22 months in jail. His lawyer told the court her client was sorry for the harm he caused his victims.
Um...I'm sorry...once you find out who he is...hire him on as a butler!!!!!
