Thieves used a basket lift to break into the Louvre on Sunday morning, forced a window, smashed display cases and escaped with jewels of “inestimable value,” France’s interior minister said, as the world’s most visited museum closed for the day during the investigation.
“A robbery took place this morning at the opening of the Louvre Museum, ” Culture Minister Rachida Dati wrote on X. The museum cited “exceptional reasons” for the closure. No injuries were reported.
The Interior Ministry said that around 9:30 a.m. several intruders forced open a window, stole jewels from vitrines and fled on two-wheelers. The ministry said forensic work is underway and a precise inventory of the stolen objects is being compiled, adding that the items have “inestimable” historical and patrimonial value. Dati and Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez were on site with museum leadership.
The Louvre has a long history of thefts and attempted robberies. The most famous was in 1911, when the Mona Lisa vanished from its frame, stolen by Vincenzo Peruggia, a former worker who hid inside the museum and walked out with the painting under his coat. It was recovered two years later in Florence — an episode that helped make Leonardo da Vinci’s portrait the world’s best-known artwork.

National School Bus Safety Week
There have been reports from two school districts around the area about cars passing stopped, red light flashing school buses.
This can get you a hefty fine, and yes, the buses are equipped with cameras. You might just get a nasty bill in the mail. And seriously, kids…stop when you see a bus.
For drivers - and you know this..so do it.
When a stopped school bus flashes its red light(s), traffic that approaches from either direction, even in front of the school and in school parking lots, must stop before it reaches the bus. You should stop at least 20 feet (6 m) away from the bus. You can identify this bus by a “SCHOOL BUS” sign, the red lights on the top and its unique yellow-orange color.
Before a school bus stops to load or discharge passengers, the driver will usually flash warning lights, which are located on the front and back of the bus near the roof. When you see them, decrease speed and be prepared to stop.
If you question if you should pass a stopped school bus on some other roadway, just stop.
For the kids on the bus.
Teach your child to:
Stay seated while the bus is moving
Keep the aisle clear
Use quiet voices
Follow the driver’s instructions
Arrive at the Bus Stop Early -Arriving 5 minutes early helps reduce rushing and distractions.
Stand Back From the Curb -Teach your child to stay 6 feet back from the curb until the bus stops completely.
Remember all the rules of the road when crossing while your bus is stopped. Stop and look for the careless drivers.

A study out of the University of Brighton looked at the ways having a DOG can positively impact your life.

Even though the study focused specifically on dogs, a lot of these things can apply to pets in general . . .
1. Structure and routine. Like getting up in the morning to feed them, or going on walks that you might otherwise let slide if your dog wasn't depending on them.
2. Companionship. Having a dog by your side can ward off feelings of loneliness. And some people even use their pets as sounding boards, or to spill secrets they don't trust anyone else with.
3. Mood boost. A lot of dog owners say they feel joy from interacting with their dog. Some say they get happier just by LOOKING at their dog . . . it doesn't even have to be DOING anything.
4. Connection. Dogs can help you meet and connect with other humans too . . . like on your daily walks or at the dog park. It's an easy icebreaker.

We’ve all had that moment where someone asks a question or makes a statement so unexpected, you have to pause and wonder if they’re actually serious.
"What’s the most unbelievable ‘Wait, you don’t get this?’
Buzzfeed collected some of the best.
"I had to explain to my coworker (33-year-old male) that the sun always rises in the east and sets in the west. After I told them that, they said, 'Every day?'"
"Every time my mom drove the car while snow was falling, she'd comment about how windy it was outside, even if there was no wind. I tried to explain that it only looks windy because of the speed of the car, but she insisted that she was right. I pointed out that 'the wind' always blew toward the front of the car, no matter what direction we were traveling. I pointed out that 'the wind' mysteriously stopped when the car stopped. None of this made any difference to her."
"My friend and I did a survey for $10 each. When we were through, the guy made us wait because he only had a twenty. We offered to just take the twenty and split it ourselves; he didn't like that. Then I offered to accept the twenty and give him ten dollars change so he could pay my friend, he stood and stared at me with the gears loudly clanking in his head for maybe 15 seconds, then he said, 'No, we're just going to wait for change.'"
"A person who didn't want to get solar panels because they were worried that if too many people had them, it would use up all the sun."
"I knew someone who thought every country was a separate island — no such thing as a land border with another country. I have no idea how he even got that idea, since he's from a country that has land borders with other countries."
"In college, my roommate thought chocolate milk came from brown cows… I was dumbfounded that he lived his life thinking that."
