Weekend at the Movies

Saturday Night - Drama about the 90 minutes before the debut of the first

Saturday Night Live. Starring Willem Dafoe, Ella Hunt, Finn Wolfhard, Lamorne Morris, J.K Simmons, Dylan O'Brien, and Rachel Sennott.

(49 years ago 10/11/1975 - "Saturday Night Live" debuted on NBC. George Carlin was the host and there were two music guests. Billy Preston sang "Nothing from Nothing" and Janis Ian did "At Seventeen".)

The Apprentice - Drama about a young Donald Trump with Sebastian Stan, Jeremy Strong, Martin Donovan, Patch Darragh, Maria Bakalova, and Emily Mitchell.

Terrifier 3 - A horror movie with Felissa Rose, Samantha Scaffidi, David Howard Thornton, Lauren LaVera, Chris Jericho, and Elliott Fullam. (it's supposed to be very intense and gory.)

Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story dealing with his 1995 accident that left him paralyzed.

Milton is devastating, thankfully it wasn’t worse like it could have been, but you have to find the levity in the situation to stay somewhat sane.

These are some of the weirder stories coming out of Florida.

First up…updates on a few things we saw before MIlton even reached landfall.

A guy in Tampa strapped his entire house down hoping to keep his roof from flying off. And it worked.

A guy known as "Lieutenant Dan" rode out the storm on his boat in Tampa. People were worried because he refused to evacuate. But reporters checked in on him, and he's okay.

A Weather Channel reporter was doing a segment from a yard when sprinklers came on in the background. Reddit laughed since the grass did NOT need watering.

The BBC's weather app had a poorly timed glitch, with "hurricane force wind" alerts popping up for cities all over the world. It said the estimated wind speed in London was more than 13,000 miles an hour.

This might have been Milton's most "Florida" moment: Two guys near Orlando went fishing in a flooded street yesterday and caught an impressive bass. Then while a reporter was talking to them, another guy randomly drove through the shot on his riding mower.

In an exciting and personal rematch from last year, 128 Grazer and 32 Chunk faced off again in the final round of 2024’s Fat Bear Week contest.

This year, embattled mama bear 128 Grazer has retained the crown of the most popular fat bear in the annual online competition, which is observing its 10th anniversary this year.

Grazer more than doubled Chunk’s vote count. The contest is held by Katmai National Park & Preserve to promote public awareness about the wild brown bears of Alaska.

Crocs for DOGS will debut later this month.

They're like normal Crocs but smaller, and they come in sets of four. There's a strap around the ankle so they won't slip off.

They claim fans have been asking for dog Crocs for years. and they come in three sizes and two colors, green or pink.

There's also a matching pair for humans, so you can coordinate outfits.

Both colors glow in the dark.

Heading to the pumpkin patch this weekend? Here are five tips so you bring home the best one . . .

1. Check the pumpkins for soft spots and signs of mold. Don't forget to check underneath, and press on it with your thumbs. If it gives a little, the pumpkin isn't fresh.

2. Look for one that has its handle or stem intact. And a dark green stem is a sign it was picked recently, compared to a brown stem.

3. Tap the outside of the pumpkin. A hollow sound is means it's more likely to be easier to carve.

4. Look for pumpkins with flat walls and no deep ribs . . . those are better for carving. And skip the tall, oblong pumpkins, which typically have stringier flesh that makes precise cuts difficult.

5. And when you think you've found the one, set it on a flat surface to be sure it sits upright and doesn't lean to one side.
