Just to be clear - The National Weather Service (NWS) and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) do not recognize or use names for winter storms, citing that a storm's impact can vary significantly by location and that winter storm systems can be difficult to track and define.

The word from Dolly Parton is, "I'm Ain't Dyin'."

She assured fans she is "OK" but said she has "some problems" to deal with and is undergoing "a few treatments."
Dolly Parton previously opened up about her health issues in a Sept. 28 social media post announcing the postponement of her Las Vegas concerts.
"As many of you know, I’ve been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures," she said. "I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see. You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you."
I did read somewhere that she had a Kidney Stone that led to an infection.

Overall, 65% of people say they are fed up with tipping. That's up from 60% last year and 53% in 2023.
62% of people say they'd rather pay more for food and drinks to provide higher wages for restaurant workers and eliminate tipping altogether.
According to a new report, the average person has paid around $150 in tips they're not totally comfortable with over the past year.
Those are situations where you:
1. Don't think a tip should be expected, like for a dog groomer or an oil change.
2. When you feel pressured into tipping more than you want, like at a casual, counter-service restaurant . . . for a ride service . . . or at a hair salon.
3. OR when you end up tipping for BAD service . . . because it's customary, you feel bad for the employee, or you don't want to look cheap.

A new poll looked at the top fall or Halloween activities we'll take part in this year. And #1 makes sense, because you don't even have to leave the couch.
1. Watch a scary movie. 48% said they'll definitely watch at least one.
2. Consume pumpkin-flavored foods or drinks, 46%
3. Display Halloween decorations, 43%
4. Hand out candy on Halloween. 39% definitely will. Another 11% said maybe.
5. Carve a pumpkin, 30%
6. Visit a pumpkin patch, 27%
7. Attend a Halloween party, 26%
8. Wear a costume. Only 25% definitely plan to dress up. Another 13% might.
9. Take a child trick-or-treating, 23%
10. Play a trick on someone, 17%. That might include jump-scare Halloween props . . . or just an old-school toilet-papering of your enemy's house.
Hayrides just missed the Top 10 at 15%. And 13% said they'll definitely hit up a haunted house this year.

A pet monkey named Ava got loose in rural South Carolina last week. And two city officials managed to catch her by offering her some coffee.
The town clerk and local mayor found her hanging off the back of a parked SUV, and they had a cup of coffee with them. So they took the lid off and put it on the ground to see if the monkey would come over and investigate. She did, and she's now back home with her owner.
(and addicted and jittery)
