Today is the first "real" Monday of 2026 for most of the workforce, and "National Motivation Day" couldn't have come at a better time. Career experts are calling today the "Great Goal Audit," where most people either double down on their resolutions or ditch them entirely.
A trending Twitter poll with over a million votes shows that 68% of people have already "slipped up" on their 2026 resolutions by day five. The most common fail? Going back to late-night scrolling instead of getting eight hours of sleep. If you’re feeling guilty, just remember you’re in the vast majority!

A major Harvard study found that five simple habits—healthy diet, exercise, weight control, no smoking, and moderate drinking—can add more than a decade of disease-free life. It’s a powerful reminder that "boring" habits lead to an extra ten years of actually feeling good.

The world’s biggest tech show, CES, begins today in Las Vegas with a massive focus on "Agentic AI"—AI that doesn't just answer questions but can actually perform tasks like booking your flights or managing your home independently.
AI features heavily, even in the official app to help you navigate the show.
Wearables for health are another big thing this year.
Robotics also feature big.

A new therapy is taking off where patients with Parkinson’s are using rock climbing to improve their balance and strength. The community and the physical challenge are helping people move better than they have in years.
Does this work for clumsy people?? Asking for a friend!

In 2026, we’ve officially moved past just trying to live long—now it’s about "Healthspan." New data shows consumers are prioritizing brain health and muscle preservation over simple weight loss. It’s no longer about the number on the scale; it’s about your "metabolic resilience" and keeping your brain sharp.
One of those ways is a massive "UPF" (Ultra-Processed Food) boycott is underway as we start 2026. People are shifting toward "whole food" protein sources and "bioharmony" nutrition plans based on their own biomarkers. We’ve reached the point where the back of the label is more important than the front.

Today’s Useless Fact of the Day - Tonight is widely considered as Twelfth Night, marking the end of the 12 days of Christmas.
There is an ancient superstition that leaving your holiday decorations up past the 5th (or 6th, depending on who you ask) will bring bad luck for the rest of the year. In Victorian times, people believed that tree spirits lived in the greenery, and if you didn't release them by Twelfth Night, they would cause mischief in the house.
Tomorrow is Epiphany.
