30 Years Ago - 1995 Cher released her twenty-first album It's a Man's World. It was kind of ignored in the US and did better in Europe. I think it's a pretty solid album. Two songs charted in the US. Today is Halloween and this is appropriate for the day! 40 Years Ago - 1985 Oingo Boingo released their fifth album Dead Man's Party. It's the only album that had singles that charted on the Hot 100. "Weird Science" (from the movie) peaked at #45 and #21 Club. "Just Another Day" made #85 "Dead Man's Party was released as a 12" single. It also appeared in a movie, Back to School. It is a perineal Halloween staple.

35 Years Ago - 1990 the compilation album Red Hot + Blue was released. It consisted of songs from Cole Porter reinterpreted by contemporary pop performers. It was the first for the Red Hot Organization and benefited the group ACT Up, and was the first major AIDS benefit in the music business. There was a TV special as well.
