As for why Joe filed for divorce ... a source with direct knowledge tells us this ... "She likes to party, he likes to stay at home. They have very different lifestyles."

August was hot...maybe not around here, but around the world. It was the hottest Northern Hemisphere summer ever measured, with a record warm August capping a season of brutal and deadly temperatures, according to the World Meteorological Organization.

Last month was not only the hottest August scientists ever recorded by far with modern equipment, it was also the second hottest month measured, behind only July 2023.

The world’s oceans — more than 70% of the Earth’s surface — were the hottest ever recorded, nearly 21 degrees Celsius (69.8 degrees Fahrenheit), and have set high temperature marks for three consecutive months.

If you notice that your wrists and back are aching constantly, the culprit could be how you carry your laptop.

These slim work devices may not look like the source of body aches, but it can be a common reason people end up with chronic pain. Over time, carrying your device ― even if it’s just from conference room to conference room ― can lead to muscle tension, posture issues and more.

If you like to carry your laptop with one hand or with the keyboard open, you’re carrying your laptop all wrong, and your body is paying the price, If you have to carry an open laptop so that you do not lose your work, do it with both hands because “you’re distributing the weight across two joints instead of one.

Ideally, you should use a backpack to carry your laptop over distances, not a tote bag you lug on one shoulder.

And don’t forget to use both straps of your backpack, either.

If you want to pretend you're sophisticated, just slap a bunch of butter on your next sandwich. It's very European.

An American woman in France posted a TikTok telling people to try a ham-and-cheese on buttered bread. Now people in other countries are making fun of Americans for not knowing it was an option.

Stephen King is a true master of horror. He's created some of the most iconic pop culture villains of all time, and terrorized millions of people.

But the most terrifying villain in his life wasn't one he created. It was Lou Bega. Because King was once so obsessed with the song "Mambo Number 5" that it almost destroyed his marriage.

He says quote, "I had the dance mix. I loved those extended play things, and I played both sides of it. And one of them was just total instrumental.

"And I played that thing until my wife just said, 'One more time, and I'm going to [effing] leave you.'"

This was when he was working on his 2011 novel, "11/22/63". King likes to listen to instrumental stuff while he's writing, but lyrics are a challenge. Quote, "If you tried to write and listen to Leonard Cohen, how the [eff] would you do that?

"Because you'd have to listen to the words and you'd have to listen to what he's saying."

Do you think you eat dinner earlier or later than most people, or are you about average? If your normal dinner time is after 6:19 P.M., you're later than average.

Someone combined stats from surveys taken between 2018 and last year, and 6:19 is the average dinner time overall. But it also depends on the state you're in.

Pennsylvania has the earliest dinner time at 5:37 P.M., followed by Maine at 5:40. Then six states start at 6:00 P.M. on the dot.

Texas and Mississippi have the latest start time at 7:02 P.M. Then it's Tennessee and Arkansas at 7:00.

New York is at 6:41pm by the way.

Most people eat dinner between 5:00 and 8:00 P.M. There's a small pop around 4:00 P.M. too though. And a solid portion of us are eating dinner much later, including some who said more like 11:00 P.M. on average.

In general though, if you want to define what "dinner time" is in the U.S., it stretches from 5:07 to 8:19 P.M.

In case you didn't see it, a catfight erupted at the port-a-potties at a Morgan Wallen concert Wednesday night. Two girls ganged up on a woman guarding a door for her daughter, because they unknowingly cut them in line.

When the daughter, now nicknamed the "Romper Stomper", came out and saw what was happening, she quickly took care of business. She says, quote, "[I] just did what I think any daughter would have done, I beat the [eff] out of them."

A woman was flying out of Pittsburgh last Friday morning, heading off on vacation to some resort. And she had her seven-year-old French bulldog with her.

She tried to claim the dog was an emotional support animal, but it wasn't. So they told her she'd have to put it in a crate. She'd apparently done zero research, and was just pushing it in a stroller.

But instead of dealing with it, she just ABANDONED the dog in the parking lot and boarded her flight.

An airport worker found the dog sitting in the stroller near short-term parking at 5:30 in the morning. She'd left some food and water, but the worker said the dog looked "very sad."

Thankfully, it's okay. Police took it in and got it to an animal shelter. They found a microchip but weren't able to get in touch with the owner.

Cops say she'll likely face animal abandonment charges when she gets back, and up to a $1,000 fine.

The story does have a happy ending though. The shelter that's taking care of the dog says they've already gotten a ton of calls from people who want to adopt it.

Today’s Useless Fact of the Day - One witness of Lincoln's assassination lived so long he was able to be interviewed about it on TV. Samuel Seymour was at Ford's Theater . . . and was interviewed about it in 1956, at age 96, on a show called "I've Got a Secret".
