Big-ticket items like a 2027 Jeep Cherokee, a Carnival Cruise vacation, a VIP trip to the Kennedy Space Center or a Polaris off-road vehicle.

On this day in 1962, The Jetsons premiered on television, giving audiences their iconic vision of the "future" with flying cars, robotic vacuums, and dinner served in pill form.

Most things were automated or Rosie the Robot Maid did it.

It was 260 years ago this month (September 23, 1766) that Harvard students launched what is generally regarded as the first known student protest on an American college campus. At the time, only seven colleges had been established in the colonies. Fed up with “bad and unwholesome” butter in Harvard’s dining commons, senior Asa Dunbar confronted a tutor — and, according to a later biblical-style student account, declared, “Behold, our butter stinketh!” Students subsequently walked out of the dining hall and ate in town. The dispute lasted for weeks, with Harvard eventually acknowledging the bad butter while disciplining student leaders; at one point, roughly half the student body was suspended.

Lionel Richie is recovering after a medical procedure.

The “Hello” singer was in the hospital this week receiving a heart procedure for atrial fibrillation (AFib), which is an irregular heart rhythm

A representative said in a statement, “Lionel underwent a common procedure for Atrial fibrillation (AFib). The doctor said everything went perfectly. Lionel is doing great but will take some time off and will be back on stage soon.”

Richie had been on tour with Earth, Wind, & Fire this year, but he was previously hospitalized twice while touring. It’s unclear whether his remaining three dates with the band will be rescheduled following this latest hospitalization.

A viral TikTok trend using AI-generated videos of Dr. Seuss's "Cat in the Hat" wandering through neighborhoods at night has escalated to the point where police in the UK, Ireland, and Belgium are issuing official statements telling people the videos are fake.

The videos show the "cat" sometimes armed—caught on "security cameras" peering into windows or lurking in streets. In Flanders, a woman called police after seeing the videos, saying she was scared to walk home.

2008 Zippo launches their iPhone app, allowing concertgoers to hold up a virtual flame during songs like "Free Bird." It's downloaded over 5 million times its first year. I actually looked in the app store, i don't see zippo's but there are a few others.

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - It would have been Jim Henson's 90th birthday today. He  originally built his very first puppets out of an old winter coat belonging to his mother and some discarded ping-pong balls cut in half for eyes.

He also had 2 chart hits "Rubber Duckie" (as Ernie - #16 in 1970) and "Rainbow Connection" (as Kermit the Frog - #25 in 1979).
