Willie Garson -- famous for his role in the "Sex and the City" series and movies -- has died ... according to his close friends.

Willie was a fan fave from the hit HBO series ... playing Sarah Jessica Parker's male BFF, Stanford Blatch -- a gay socialite who Carrie Bradshaw often called "Stanny."

Willie was also in both 'SATC' movies ... and he's at least slated to appear with SJP and co. in "And Just Like That..." -- the new HBO Max series. We know he shot scenes in NYC this summer with Sarah Jessica and Mario Cantone.

WG's roles went well beyond 'SATC' though -- he's been in tons of shows and movies throughout his career ... including stuff like "White Collar," "Hawaii Five-0," "Quantum Leap," "Girl Meets World," "Mr. Belvedere," "Just Shoot Me!" "Big Mouth," "Supergirl," and many, many more.

Willie was 57. He leaves behind his son, Nathen.

How to perk up if you're in an afternoon slump at work.

Harvard’s Healthy Sleep site explains, “The grogginess that people often experience in the mid-afternoon, and commonly attribute to a heavy lunch or a dull meeting, is usually the result of a brief lull in the strength of the alerting signal (circadian rhythm). While sleep drive continues to climb, there is an hour or two each afternoon during which the alerting signal fails to keep pace, and alertness suffers as a result.“

Drink some water (you're probably dehydrated anyway), turn up the lights or go outside, research has found that more intense light can improve feelings of alertness and vitality.

Also eat a fun, motivating snack. Brain foods like broccoli, grains, lentils and eggs, for example, can help boost concentration when you need it most.

A survey of 2,000 Americans found that one in seven respondents said they’re not morning people, with 35% saying they still feel tired and another 31% feeling groggy.

Those who are not early birds say they would rather sleep in than make breakfast. A quarter (26%) shared that they don’t have the time to whip up a tasty meal in the mornings.

Although people favor classic breakfast foods like eggs, pancakes and french toast, they are more likely to have time for quick breakfasts during the week like toast (40%) or cereal (33%).

More than two in five said they sometimes have breakfast on the go (42%) and employed respondents are even likely to have breakfast in their car twice a week.

MOST LOVED BREAKFAST ITEMS

Eggs

Pancakes

French toast

English muffin

Waffles

45% dream in their sleep about what they’re going to eat the next day.

On a related note:

Back in 1998, a Mexican restaurant in San Francisco offered free tacos for life to anyone who got its logo tattooed on their body. It's actually kind of cute, a young boy in a sombrero riding a cob of corn-slash-rocket ship lovingly named “Jimmy the Cornman,”

The tacos-for-tattoos promotion went viral the old fashioned way, with a handful of people who got the tattoos becoming brief media celebs. Now, more than two decades later and long after the Casa Sanchez taco chain closed its doors, they say the free food was never the point. (sure it wasn't)

Eat an orange before working out. Not only does it keep you hydrated, but it also prevents your muscles from getting sore.

Mercedes is working on a car that reads the driver’s mind. (this is a horrible idea for those of us with road rage!)
