UAW members at three assembly plants in Michigan, Ohio, and Missouri went on strike for the first time in its 88-year history, after their labor contracts expired at 11:59 p.m. The strike targets specific plants of Ford Motor Co., General Motors, and Stellantis, which makes Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Fiat brands.
In a unique strategy, union leaders say they will select new target plants to take out on strike in various waves if negotiations continue to fail to land new agreements with the auto companies. The method is designed to keep the automakers off-guard and leverage the union's position.

Hurricane Lee is expected to bring a nasty mix of heavy rain, strong winds and high seas to the eastern New England region starting later Friday and lasting into Saturday, forecasters said. Even if Lee doesn't officially make landfall in New England, its impacts will still be felt across the region in part because of the increasing size of the storm, risking damaging winds, powerful surf, and possible flooding to the area. In Maine, the state is under its first hurricane watch in 15 years.

A NASA-commissioned team studying UFO reports for the last year said there's "no conclusive evidence" that they're extraterrestrial but that it's possible such evidence could be uncovered. The report said stigma has hindered research into UAP ( Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena) by researchers avoiding its study out of fear it would damage their career and credibility.

A survey has found that the ideal, "peak nap time" is Wednesdays . . . at 9:39 A.M.
65% of people say the urge to get a few Zs strikes before noon although many of them can't make that happen.
And an average nap is about 51 minutes.
Most people can't fit mid-day naps in because they WORK throughout the afternoon, but 26% of people claim they've brought a pillow to work before.
If napping AT work wasn't strange, they asked about the most unusual places people have napped, and more than 20% of people have napped at: A movie theater . . . a restaurant . . . a doctor's office . . . and a museum or art gallery.

If you feel tired all the time, it might be because you're doing some of these four things.
1. Waiting too long between meals. In general, you shouldn't go more than five or six waking hours without eating. When you go longer than that, the body will start craving food . . . and you're more likely to eat quick, processed carbs.
2. Working at a messy desk. Working in a cluttered area is distracting for your brain. Which means tasks take longer to complete, and require you to use up more mental focus and energy.
3. Having too many tabs open. Like a messy desk, having 20-plus tabs open on your computer puts your brain into overdrive and increases the chance that you'll be distracted.
4. Watching emotionally-charged television shows. Binge watching shows that are emotionally charged can be overstimulating. And it doesn't matter if it's positive or negative emotions . . . they both can lead to mental fatigue, difficulty focusing, and poor energy levels.
