The woolly mammoth was last seen roughly 10,000 years ago, during the Ice Age. Can bringing it back help cool our warming planet now? (or why don't we just not ask this question? I've seen movies..what could possibly go wrong?)

That’s the bold idea put forward by Colossal, a bioscience and genetics engineering company that launches today — and is backed by Harvard University and some of the world’s most forward-thinking scientists.

One of the greatest threats to the earth is the melting of the arctic permafrost and its massive release of the greenhouse gasses that are stored safely in its freeze. When the herds of woolly mammoth and other animals vanished, that area became covered with a forest that keeps the earth warmer. Church is betting on the idea that a resurrected population of the mammoths, if let loose in the arctic, would chomp and stomp down the bush and trees, exposing the earth to subzero temperatures and allowing the tundra’s original grasslands to grow back. That ecosystem, maintained by the large creatures, would then effectively sequester carbon, rather than allowing it back into the atmosphere.

1. An old song you love. Especially if you haven't heard it in a long time.

2. Waves crashing on the beach.

3. Birds chirping.

4. A crackling fireplace.

5. Walking on fresh snow.

10. Leaves rustling, because it reminds us of fall.

A few more from the top 20 include church bells, bees, thunder, kids having fun, and the radio playing in the background made the list at #18.

A survey of homeowners finds it takes and estimated $33,000 of renovations to achieve the “perfect” home after moving in. The survey found just 38 percent consider their property to be perfect — and were completely happy with their abode by the age of 43. Renovating the kitchen had the biggest impact on achieving the perfect place (42 percent), followed by a living room makeover (32 percent) and a new bathroom (26 percent).

AND

A survey of homeowners found the average home is five years and five months away from being “finished” — with painting, landscaping and redecorating the living room topping the nation’s to-do lists. However, 39 percent of homeowners admitted they don’t think their homes will ever be truly complete.
