The Root Beer Float..what's not to like? Root Beer, and a scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream. Invented by Robert McCay Green in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1874 during the Franklin Institute's semicentennial celebration. The traditional story is that, on a particularly hot day, Green ran out of ice for the flavored drinks he was selling and used vanilla ice cream from a neighboring vendor, inventing a new drink.

Do you know when your passport expires? If it’s even remotely soon, consider starting the renewal process now. According to the State Dept., it’s now taking as long as six months for Americans to get their passports renewed or to get their first ones issued. Pre-Covid, the wait times ranged from six to eight weeks for regular applications and two to three if you paid the expedite fee.

Now, even expedited applications are taking up to three months to process. A combination of pandemic staffing issues and backlogs are to blame, as people who let their passports lapse during the travel bans are now rushing to get them renewed. The State Dept. even had to suspend online bookings because scammers were using bots to book appointments and re-sell them to travelers.

Lizzo and Chris Evans are having lots of fun with their very public flirtation.

In her latest move, the singer posted a TikTok pretending to be pregnant with Captain America’s baby.

“This is something that I’ve been really trying to keep personal and private just between me and the father of my child,” she said. “But since we’re airing out all the rumors today, I’ve been sucking in. We’re going to have a little America.”

Apparently, Evans found it funny. On Monday, Lizzo shared some DMs from the movie star.

“Hi! Just heard about our little bundle of joy,” he wrote, adding a laughing emoji. “My mother will be so happy lol. “(Just promise me no gender reveal parties lol).”
