The #1 thing trending on Twitter Friday was Threads..the new social media app from Meta.

Elon Musk is not amused and is getting ready to sue about intellectual property/trade secrets.

Threads has already attained over 44 million users in less than a day since its public launch.

I admit..I downloaded it right when it was available. I’m seeing about 68 Million now.

The new version of Taylor Swift's 2010 third album "Speak Now" is out, the third in Swift’s catalog to be rereleased as "Taylor’s Version," in a move she made to reclaim her artistic ownership following the bitter fallout from the sale of her original master recordings in 2020.

There are six new "vault" tracks, two of which feature Fall Out Boy and Paramore’s Hayley Williams.

So you know what that means..no more Speak Now regular versions. it's got to be Taylor's Versions now.

Researchers in Japan are testing a new medication that would let people regrow teeth. It's already worked on mice. They'll start testing it on humans next year, and it could be available by 2030.

Olivia Rodrigo chatted with Vogue about her upcoming sophomore album "Guts," and when the author noted she met her husband when she was 20, Rodrigo responded, "I want to meet my husband now!" She's also already thinking about having kids, noting she is "so excited to experience motherhood one of these days," and "I think about it all the time." When asked if she's currently single, Rodrigo made a "so-so gesture" before telling Vogue, "I don't know! I don't kiss and tell" — though the outlet noted that she laughed before saying that second part, possibly as an acknowledgment that it "isn't exactly true."

Rodrigo recently released her new single "Vampire," in which she brutally slams an ex-boyfriend that fans have speculated is Zack Bia.

If you're running low on stamps, pop into your local post office today and stock up. The price of a U.S. stamp is about to go up AGAIN.

Starting Sunday, "Forever" stamps will jump from 63 cents to 66 cents. It's the second price jump this year, and the fifth since 2019.

At the start of 2019, they were 50 cents. They upped it to 55 that January . . . then 58 in 2021 . . . 60 last year . . . 63 this past January . . . and now 66 cents.

The cost to send a postcard will also jump from 48 to 51 cents. And sending a letter overseas will now cost $1.50, up from $1.45.

Bonus Useless Fact of the Day - It's a federal crime to reuse a stamp . . . it can get you up to one year in prison.

Imagine biting into a snack, enjoying its delicious taste -- and then enjoying the wrapper as delicious and nutritious as the food inside. It may sound like a scene from a science fiction movie, but it could soon be reality. Scientists in China are promising to revolutionize the packaging industry by creating an edible, transparent, and biodegradable material that combats the ever-growing problem of plastic waste.

Researchers at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) focused on bacterial cellulose (BC), an organic compound derived from bacteria. BC surpasses plant cellulose in several key aspects. Its notable advantages include superior water-holding capacity, higher tensile strength, a distinctively soft texture, and a high fiber content.

Yesterday was Aphelion Day, when we're at our farthest point from the sun all year, about 95 million miles away. The closest we ever get is around 91 million miles. That happens in January.

Also, the Earth may have had its hottest day on record THREE times this week. The first two were July 3rd and 4th. Now initial data shows the 5th was even hotter . . . an average worldwide temp of 62.9 degrees.

Alan Alda is auctioning off the combat boots and dog tags he wore on "M*A*S*H" back in the day.

The proceeds will go to the Alda Center for Communicating Science at Stony Brook University in New York.

He says, quote, "There's an old belief among actors that when you put the shoes of the character on, it's easier to believe you're the character and I think the boots had that effect on me."

While the dog tags came from the costume department, they had the names of two actual soldiers on them.

Alda says, quote, "I saw those names every day. It was an interesting experience to put them on. I wasn't dealing with props. I was dealing with something that put me in touch with real people."
