Wrong Way Corrigan Day - commemorates the day in 1938 when Douglas Corrigan made a transatlantic flight. He applied for permission to make a transatlantic flight but was denied. On July 17, 1938, he flew out of Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn, New York, with the supposed intention of flying back to California. He instead started heading east and flew all the way to Dublin, Ireland. As he disembarked from the plane he said, "Just got in from New York. Where am I?" He claimed his flight had been an accident and he had gotten lost after his compass failed to work. His pilot's license was suspended but was soon reinstated. He became a celebrity and gained the name Wrong Way Corrigan.

Yellow Pigs Day - celebrating the number 17. The day was created in the early 1960s by two Princeton math students, Michael Spivak and David Kelly, after they had been working with and listing the properties of the number 17. The days' name likely was a reference to David Kelly's collection of yellow pigs. The day's mascot became a yellow pig with 17 toes, 17 eyelashes, and 17 teeth.

Well, this will cause some debate (you think?) (It's pretty accurate though)

The AV Club has ranked every Marvel TV show from Worst to Best.

The worst parts of outdoors in the summer.

Sweating - 35%

Bugs - 32%

Sunburns - 31%

Muggy air - 31%

Dehydration - 30%

Despite all this MISERY, people ARE going outside. The poll found that the average person can handle being outside five hours a day in the summer. But 38% would opt for less.

55% of people say that it's difficult to plan outdoor activities . . . partially because of the weather, and partially because even if it is sunny, 45% say that it's hard to find something that everyone wants to do on hot summer days.

Oh, and the "perfect temperature" to keep the AC running at during the summer months is . . . 64. (are you kidding me?????)
