Thomas Paine Day - England-born political philosopher and writer who supported revolutionary causes in America and Europe. Published in 1776 to international acclaim, “Common Sense” was the first pamphlet to advocate American independence.

Musician Jim Seals, who had a string of hits as one half of the popular 1970s soft rock duo Seals & Crofts, has died at the age of 80.

Born in 1942 to an oilman, Seals took to music early, winning a fiddle contest at the age of 10 before learning the sax at 13, according to Variety.

During the late ’50s and ’60s, both Seals and future duet partner Dash Crofts played in the Champs, who became famous for their classic instrumental song “Tequila,” though both joined the band after the recording.

For a time, the two backed up Glen Campbell before officially becoming a duo.

During the mid-’70s, Seals & Crofts ― with Seals singing the leads ― had a string of chart hits still popular on oldies radio and yacht rock playlists, including “Summer Breeze,” “Diamond Girl” and “Get Closer.”

The newest trend for brides is BLACK wedding dresses.

According to Google Trends, Americans have been googling them just as much as white dresses for the past year. And they were actually searched more than white dresses for two months last fall.

A spokesperson for the chain David's Bridal says you used to have to custom order a black gown. But they're so popular now, they've started stocking them. Other wedding dress colors that are trending right now include blue, purple, and red.

In a new survey, only 53% of Americans felt like an "adult" when they turned 18 . . . and nearly 70% of people said they thought 18 is an "arbitrary age" to consider someone an adult.

So what makes someone feel like an adult? In the survey, 30% of people say it's when you're living on your own. That was the most popular answer.

Other responses include: Buying a house . . . getting married . . . having your own bank account . . . having kids . . . doing all your own grocery shopping . . . doing your taxes . . . being OFF the family cell phone plan . . . voting . . . having a regular job . . . and buying "real" furniture, not just stuff from Craigslist.

She says his ex has confirmed that she and Darrin are back together. Oh....And they still haven't met in person. That's right..they got married over Zoom.

Hot Pockets just announced they're going to start selling cold pockets. Missed opportunity here though, they will be called Deliwich sandwiches. You thaw them out before you eat them.

They say you can put one in your kid's lunchbox in the morning, and it'll be ready to eat in two to four hours. Or you can thaw them out in the microwave. It's their first offering that's not meant to be eaten hot.

They're releasing four different versions: Pepperoni-and-cheese . . . ham-and-cheese . . . turkey-and-cheese . . . and one that's only cheese. They'll hit grocery stores nationwide by the end of the month.

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - If there was a hole going all the way through the Earth and you fell in, it would take about 38 minutes for you to get to the other side.

By the way, China isn't on the other side of the world from us. If you dug a hole straight through from Elmira, we are in the ocean off the coast of Australia. Somewhere in South America will get you to China. Check out this fun website.
