Should you salt watermelon?? Grapefruit?
Sprinkling salt on watermelon might sound like an unlikely match, but the play of sweet and salty makes it a no-brainer combination. Think of beloved dynamic duos like salted caramel, peanut butter, or any other desserts that get a hit of salt to emphasize the sweet.
Salt naturally cuts through bitter notes, making the sweetness stand out more and be the star of each bite.
Other fruits, like grapefruit and cranberries, have a fair bit of bitterness compared to sweetness. Salt is a great way to enhance these fruits' natural sweetness.
Salting watermelon also improves the fruit's texture. A little sprinkling of salt brings all the liquid to the surface of the water-rich fruit. As a result, each bite is guaranteed to be juicy and sweet. Some people even salt their watermelon slices, wait a few minutes, then dig in to allow this process a little time to get going.

It's still hard to believe a fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk is a thing that might actually happen.
But if it does, who do you think will win? According to a new poll, most Americans think Musk takes the victory, 28% to 16%. 17% think the odds are even . . . and 39% aren't sure.
Meanwhile, 43% of Americans say they've heard NOTHING AT ALL about the potential fight. Another 43% say they've heard a little . . . and 14% have heard a lot about it.

People online can't agree on where to store open bottles of ketchup. Do you keep yours in the fridge, or just leave it out at room temperature?
Heinz's U.K. division started a Twitter poll to see where people stand. Last we checked, only 55% said they refrigerate their ketchup. But that's mainly Brits voting. It's not clear if that holds true here too.
Some people apparently hate COLD ketchup. And the main argument for not refrigerating is restaurants just leave it sitting out. So do you really have to?
The ketchup at restaurants gets used up pretty fast though. So it's probably not sitting out for months on end. And according to Heinz, your fridge IS the best place for it.
Heinz UK posted on Twitter and said, "FYI: Ketchup goes in the FRIDGE!!" A spokesperson for Heinz added that is the "best way to maintain" its taste.

It can be difficult to drive in areas where there are pedestrians . . . bicyclists . . . children . . . and animals. And it's even WORSE when people have their phones out.
A lot is made of distracted DRIVERS on their phones, but the city of Mulberry, Florida is putting up dozens of signs warning drivers of "smartphone zombies" . . . or PEDESTRIANS who are so engrossed in their phones that they're not paying attention to what the vehicles around them are doing.
A city official says he got the idea from a MEME, but he thinks it's important . . . especially in areas around schools and libraries, where kids are often walking around on their phones, and sometimes also wearing headphones.
The reaction is mixed . . . but the city says that they're having the signs made locally at a relatively low cost, so it doesn't hurt to raise awareness for the fact that pedestrians are not always as alert as they should be.
