Believe it or not, there's actually science behind why sometimes the best way to fix your electronics is by smacking them. (The Fonz was right)
"Percussive maintenance" is the sophisticated term for shaking, banging on, or pounding something to make it work. And it works especially well for products that have batteries or older electronics that have parts that might've become slightly out of line.
But . . . if you're going to try to fix things this way, tap them, don't hit them. Because if you hit something too hard, or you hit a device that's too fragile like an iPhone, you risk breaking it.
And percussive maintenance is a temporary fix at best . . . when a device is at the "I need to hit this to make it work" stage, it probably needs an actual professional fix. Or new batteries.

Quick DIY icepacks: Soak a sponge, put it in a zip lock bag and freeze it overnight. The bag will keep any water from getting out, and the sponge will reabsorb it so you can refreeze it again and again.

A new study in Sweden found we see other people as less attractive when we're tired or haven't gotten enough sleep. They tracked people's eye movements after a full night of sleep and after no sleep.
When people hadn't slept, they spent less time fixating on other people's faces. And they also rated them as less attractive. So being tired is kind of like having "beer goggles," but in reverse.

An immersive restaurant experience is coming to L.A. next month and it's centered all around "The Golden Girls". It'll be called the Golden Girls Kitchen and will be a fully-functioning restaurant and bar.
There will be items inspired by the show like Sophia’s lasagna (meat or vegan), Blanche's Georgia-style cookies, the Dorothy: a Miami-style sandwich, and beverages like Tea Arthur and Rose on Rosé.
There will also be exclusive merchandise and photo-ops where you can sit at their kitchen table, chill on the lanai or take a spin through Shady Pines.
You can head to BucketListers.com to get on the waitlist. Tickets will be $50 and include a reserved seat and time, an entrée and, of course . . . cheesecake.

If you're in your 40s and still have old clothes from high school packed away, your kids might want them. Because early 2000s fashion is officially COOL again.
The trend actually started last summer. But now influencers are latching on, so hashtags like "Y2KStyle" and "Y2KFashion" are trending. A few examples include bright colors . . . wild t-shirts . . . low-rise jeans . . . Ed Hardy stuff . . . tiny purses . . . and velour tracksuits with "Juicy" on the back.
One reason it's supposedly happening now is young people feel like the pandemic robbed them of their childhood. And clothes back then were all about being fun and youthful. But trends also just come back around like this constantly.
If you really want to feel old, here ya go: Stuff from the Y2K era is now being sold as "vintage" clothing. And a lot of recent shows and movies set in the early 2000s are being called "period pieces."
