6/26/21 Barcodes rule!

Saturday 6/26/21

Celebrate National Coconut, Beautician's, Chocolate Pudding (yum), and Barcode Day.

National Barcode Day commemorates more than 40 years of efficiency and accuracy that began on June 26, 1974, when a clerk scanned a 10-pack of Wrigley’s Juicy Fruit gum at a Marsh supermarket in Troy, OH. On that day, the barcode system invented by George Lauer, an IBM engineer, began to change the world.

In the UK a guy broke into an empty apartment. The owners were away for a few days. The guy stayed one night, replaced the beer he drank with a better brand of beer, and cleaned the place — even the rooms he never entered. Police have no leads and the apartment owners, while grateful for the cleaning, have changed their locks and installed security cameras.

Never hold in a sigh. When we sigh the alveoli, those tiny air sacs in your lungs, get inflated, which keeps them active. If you stopped sighing, these alveoli would stop working causing your lungs to eventually collapse and fail. (i was told to stop sighing once...really..you were trying to kill me??)

Police in Lackawanna County broke up an exorcism in the lumber aisle of a home-improvement store Monday.

Details are scarce on just what was going on inside the Home Depot on Commerce Drive in Dickson City Monday afternoon, but police were called around 3:26 p.m. to escort several people out of the store for “bad behavior.

The original police report said they were having an exorcism in the lumber isle for dead trees.

(Thanks Chris for the story)
