Tear the Tags Off the Mattress Day - There is a law against tearing tags off mattresses, however, but it is only in effect until a mattress is purchased and delivered, and thus applies only to the likes of manufacturers and retailers, not consumers.

We often hear terms like 'tech addiction' and 'doom scrolling,' where we can't seem to put the phone down. Let BePresent help curb that addiction.
There’s a new App created by those that have only known social media in their lives.
Their tagline - The fun and easy way to stay off your phone.
They claim that users decrease their screen time by over 50%
Basically, it turns reducing your screen time into a game competing against your friends. Challenges, streaks, and gives you the incentive to stay off your phone.
One of the creators thinks we'll see more help aimed at Digital Wellness.

They can't make produce cheaper, cause, you know… healthy food needs to break our banks, SO...enter designer fruits and veggies.
The Rubyglow pineapple, which Fresh Del Monte describes as "an ultra-premium luxury 'designer' fruit that appeals to high-end consumers." Red on the outside, yellow on the inside (yea..like a regular pineapple) and almost $400.
To merit its designer price tag, the Rubyglow "is individually packaged in a beautiful box that unfolds almost like origami," says Food & Wine.
Fun new fruits have lately included a thornless blackberry, a "Yellow Submarine" tomato that's yellow and shaped like a peanut (born at Cornell University), and the Luna avocado

After 114 years, the Boy Scouts of America is changing its name and rebranding as "Scouting America".
They say it's to reflect their, quote, "ongoing commitment to welcome EVERY youth and family in America to experience the benefits of Scouting." It goes into effect on February 8th of next year for their 115th anniversary.
Girls have been allowed since 2018, and over 6,000 have already made Eagle Scout. So nothing's really changing there. The point is to just make sure people know it's not just for boys.
Their CEO called it a, quote, "simple but very important evolution as [they] seek to ensure that everyone feels welcome in Scouting."

In a new poll, 26% of Americans admit to buying healthy foods at the grocery store "just because they're trendy." We're assuming they still EAT THEM. But we've all bought something because we think we SHOULD eat healthier . . . only to have it go to waste before we figure out how to use it.
Overall, 65% of people would rate their grocery shopping habits as at least "somewhat healthy." But healthiness is only our FOURTH highest priority, behind cost . . . quality . . . and household preferences.
The poll also asked what types of foods people would be MORE likely to SPLURGE on if they could . . . and "organic produce" is #1.
Things that are "high in" good stuff (like vitamins and nutrients) is next . . . followed by "sugar-free" versions, then there are things that have "reduced bad stuff (like fat and sugar), and items that are "free range."

Windshield wiper anxiety. Do you suffer from that???
A person said "I get really self-conscious by the speed of my windshield wipers when it's raining"
I subconsciously check how fast other drivers wipers are to validate my level of "wiper action"....
Other responses.
The amount of times I change the speed of my wipers because I'm looking at the speed of the other cars is probably unhealthy. Haha.
I do the same thing. I adjust the speed of my windshield wipers based on the others outside.
Brooke: I'm with Ben. My automatic windshield wipers go too fast when it's barely raining and I worry if people think I'm crazy
This honestly has never been a thought for me. I can't get them right with the amount of rain sometimes which annoys me.
I'm more upset when I see people on a dark, cloudy, and rainy day without their lights on.

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - Grapefruit got its name because they grow on trees in bunches, so they look like large, yellow grapes.
In France, it's the Pamplemousse.
