A new report, released earlier this month, found that in every state, you need to earn at least six figures to achieve “the American dream”. In this case, this was defined as earning twice the cost of being a married couple with two children living in a home for four with a car and a pet, plus annual groceries, pet care, a mortgage, healthcare, utilities, education, and child care.

The costs required for the “American dream” were much higher on the coast than in the South, Midwest, and Plains. Hawaii is the worst offender – residents there would need almost $260,800 to afford the dream, while the cheapest state was Mississippi at $110,000. Massachusetts, Washington, New Jersey, and New Hampshire were the only other states that required over $200K.

At Victoria Beckham's star-studded 50th birthday party over the weekend, Tom Cruise apparently shocked the guests with a series of breakdancing moves.

Some of the guests included the other Spice Girls, Gordon Ramsay, Salma Hayek, Jason Statham, and Eva Longoria.  Unfortunately, cameras were "strictly banned" by the Beckhams, so there isn't actually any PROOF.

All five Spice Girls performed Stop as well.

Finance Buzz wants to pay a "Wookiee Rookie" $1,000 to watch all nine "Star Wars" movies in the Skywalker Saga.

They want someone who has never seen a "Star Wars" movie or TV show before.  The chosen one will give an outsider's perspective and will rate and evaluate the movies in the order they were released.  So, starting with "Episode 4".

Since it's 25 hours and seven minutes of movie-watching, Finance Buzz will also add $100 for snacks and streaming fees.

You must be 18 to apply and applications are being accepted until May 4th.

There's no cure for Stiff Person Syndrome, but Celine Dion isn't giving up.

She says, quote, "I haven't beat the disease, as it's still within me and always will be.  I hope that we'll find a miracle, a way to cure it with scientific research, but for now I have to learn to live with it."

Celine is doing intense physical therapy five days a week to counteract the symptoms.

Quote, "I work on my toes, my knees, my calves, my fingers, my singing, my voice . . . I have to learn to live with it now and stop questioning myself."

She adds, quote, "Life doesn't give you any answers.  You just have to live it!"

Taylor Swift and Beyoncé seem to be peacefully coexisting.  But their fans aren't.  The Swifties and the Beyhive are having issues over . . . Post Malone.

Post has appeared on both ladies' recent albums.  After he did "LEVII'S JEANS" with Beyoncé, he gave her an Instagram shoutout, saying, quote, "I love you Beyoncé."

But after "Fortnight", his new track with Taylor, came out, he absolutely GUSHED.  He said, quote, "It's once in a lifetime that someone like [Taylor] comes into this world.

"I am floored by your heart and your mind, and I am beyond honored to have been asked to help you with your journey.  I love you so much.  Thank you, Tay."

Now Beyoncé's fans are crying foul, saying he SLIGHTED her, and she deserved just as much recognition as Taylor got.  Of course, the Swifties say they're overreacting.  And once again, we can NOT all get along.

Have you ever noticed the dusty stuff on packaged shredded cheese?  It's always there . . . whether you see it or not . . . and it's an anti-caking agent.  It keeps the shreds from sticking and lumping together.

Different companies use different methods.  Kraft uses cornstarch . . . Tillamook uses potato starch . . . Sargento uses powdered cellulose, which is "refined wood pulp" . . . Lucerne uses both tapioca and potato starch.  Other anti-caking agents can include calcium sulfate, which is a component in cement.

So there's a social media trend of people WASHING their shredded cheese before use.  Most people are dumping the cheese into a colander . . . rinsing it with water . . . and then DRYING IT on a paper towel.

The water that strains out is cloudy, and sometimes discolored, which adds THEATRICS to the videos.

Yes, this is ridiculous . . . all-around.

Rinsing cheese is messy, and you have to measure it out first because you shouldn't return the "cleaned" cheese to the fridge.  Even if it's dried, it can develop mold faster, because you may have washed off the "mold inhibitors" that are also added.

Buying a block, and shredding your own cheese.  It's less convenient, but so is WASHING SHREDDED CHEESE.  And it will probably have more flavor . . . and it can be cheaper.

A weird glitch removed "Philadelphia" as an option last week.  People noticed it wasn't their "hometown" anymore, and they couldn't add it back in either.

If you tried to add Philadelphia as your hometown or current city, your only options were things like Philadelphia, Mississippi.  The only choice in Pennsylvania was the small town of New Philadelphia, about 90 miles outside the city.

It affected businesses too.  Their address on Instagram didn't have the city anymore and just listed the street number.

Philly folks immediately started blasting Mark Zuckerberg for HATING on them.  Others joked the city was being renamed or repossessed by the federal government.

The good news is it looks like the issue may have been resolved.

Because we are a stubborn nation and like the metric system that we ignore, we don’t write the date like the rest of the world. This allows us to be in a time of palindromes. That’s something that reads the same forwards and backward.

This time it is the way we write the date.

4/20/24 - 2/29/24 are all the same backwards and forwards.

Today’s Useless Fact of the Day - Your body contains about 0.2 milligrams of gold.  That's worth roughly one penny.
