From Syracuse.com - It’s was 85 degrees in the middle of April in Central New York, and nobody’s complaining about the heat like we undoubtedly will in July.

there’s also a scientific reason why a hot July day feels 10 degrees hotter than a hot April day, and it involves tree leaves and human sweat.

It's all about the humidity. Now it's like 15%-20% in July it's 60%-70%. which makes the air feel a lot thicker.

That's the heat index at work.

And the leafed trees actually add water vapor to the air.

India is on track to pass China as the world's most populous country sometime this month, experts say, a position held by China since the United Nations began tracking data in 1950. Both countries updated population data last summer—it is possible the changeover already occurred—but models project India will end the year with around 1.429 billion people, compared to China's 1.426 billion.

India has added 1 billion people in the past 70 years, and analysts say the country's growing population may position it as a top economic power in the coming decades. More than 40% of the population is under 25 years old (see data), with an overall median age of 28, compared to 38 in the US and 39 in China. Conversely, the rapid growth has strained public services and health infrastructure, among other challenges.

Grammy, Oscar, and Golden Globe winner Lionel Richie will be among the star-studded line-up of performers putting on a once-in-a-lifetime performance in front of the King and the crowd outside Windsor Castle on Sunday, May 7. Lionel was chosen as the first global ambassador for Charles’ charity, The Prince’s Trust, back in 2019.

His American Idol c-judge Katy Perry will also perform. She also serves as an ambassador for the Kings Charity.

Other acts will be Operatic star Andrea Bocelli, and British Boy Band Take That, and no surprise since Gary Barlow organized the Diamond Jubilee concert for the late Queen in 2012 and led his bandmates in a performance at the London 2012 Olympics closing ceremony.

On Sunday night, April 16, the curtain will fall on the longest-running show in Broadway history. The Phantom of the Opera, Andrew Lloyd Webber's mega hit musical, is closing after more than 35 years.

Since it opened on Broadway in January of 1988, Phantom has played almost 14,000 performances to audiences of over 20 million, grossing over $1.3 billion. An estimated 6,500 people have been employed by the production – including over 400 actors – and it takes a cast, orchestra and crew of 125 to put on the show.

In a recent poll on morality, only 52% of people said that cheating on your taxes is "always immoral." 27% of people said it's "sometimes immoral" . . . and 10% of people said lying on your taxes is "never immoral."

Women are more likely to think fudging numbers IS immoral. The demographic that is most likely to cheat on their taxes is: Conservative men between the ages of 30 and 44, who make more than $100,000 per year.

A 50-year-old woman in Spain just spent 500 days living alone in a cave 230 feet underground.

Her name is Beatriz Flamini. It was an experiment to study our internal clock and how we react to extreme isolation. Scientists watched her the whole time, but she had no contact with anyone. She had two GoPros so they could see her.

She went in on November 20th, 2021.

She didn't have clocks or calendars, and she stopped trying to keep track around Day 65.

She says she was shocked when they came in to get her on Friday, because she didn't think she'd been there that long. She would have guessed around 170 days, and she was kind of sad it was over.

They sent food down to her, and she sent her waste back up. But she never showered the whole time.

She didn't have TV and couldn't read the news. \

So how did she pass the time? She says she did a lot of drawing, knitting, exercising, and read about 60 books. She also planned to write a book but says she didn't have time to finish it.

She basically didn't talk the entire time, so conversations are tough right now. But the first thing she asked when she climbed out was who wanted to buy her a beer.

Her team says she broke the world record for longest time spent in a cave, but it hasn't been confirmed by Guinness yet.
