When a book is turned into a movie, a lot of stuff gets changed. Sometimes, entire characters are left out.

- The Good Witch of the North from "The Wizard of Oz" (1939): In the original story, Glinda the Good Witch of the South doesn't appear until the end.

The Good Witch of the North, sometimes referred to as Locasta or Tattypoo, is the one who greets Dorothy when she arrives in Oz.

- Madge Undersee from "The Hunger Games" (2012): She was Katniss Everdeen's best friend, and the one who gave Katniss her Mockingjay pin.

- Dr. Martin Gutierrez from "Jurassic Park" (1993): He's the only character who appears in both the "Jurassic Park" and "The Lost World" novels but doesn't appear in ANY of the movies.

- Captain Marvel from "Captain America: Civil War" (2016): Captain Marvel was in the original comic book version. She was Team Iron man. But she wasn't part of the MCU yet when the movie was made.

- Carol Masters from "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" (1988): The original book was called "Who Censored Roger Rabbit", and it was A LOT different from the movie.

(might need to put this on my reading list)
