Oscar and Tony-nominated actor Melinda Dillon, who played Mother Parker in “A Christmas Story,” and appeared in “Magnolia” and “Close Encounters of the Third Kind,” died Jan. 9. She was 83.

Dillon is celebrated for her role as Jillian Guiler in Steven Speilberg’s “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” (1977), for which she earned an Oscar nomination for supporting actress. She received a second supporting actress nomination in 1982 for her role as Teresa in Sydney Pollack’s “Absence of Malice” (1981). In 1977, she received a Golden Globe nomination for acting debut in a motion picture for Hal Ashby’s “Bound for Glory” (1976).

But it is the Mom in the classic "A Christmas Story" that made her beloved.

We've heard of GPT-3, OpenAI’s language model, and now someone is using it to make a sitcom. So Seinfeld, the show about nothing, now has a sequal really about nothing.

It's “Nothing, Forever,” described as an AI-generated and nonsensical version of “Seinfeld” that streams on Twitch.

The Twitch account that the show runs on is called @watchmeforever, now has more than 83,000 followers, with 11,000 or more viewers taking a look at any time.

It uses a combination of machine learning, generative algorithms, and cloud services to build the show.

I enjoy the fact that the characters don't look at each other very often, and I guess I can call her Elaine is always microwaving something, and watching them try to sit on the couch is hilarious in itself.

The good news is, the show streams constantly, putting its characters into different situations that have a definite “Seinfeld” vibe.

The result of James Cameron's big experiment on Jack and Rose at the end of "Titanic" yielded a pretty surprising result: Cameron actually admitted that BOTH Jack and Rose might have been able to survive.

For the National Geographic special "Titanic: 25 Years Later with James Cameron", they simulated the conditions of the movie as closely as possible.

Don't miss the special on National Geographic channel on Sunday for the final results.

Beyoncé announced the dates for her Renaissance Tour this week and yes, she's using Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster is going to TRY to avoid disaster by doing things a little differently.

This includes staggering the on-sale dates for various venues, and using membership systems like Verified Fan. Seven new dates have also been added, based on registration numbers that show demand is way outpacing supply.

We'll see how this goes!

The goofy clawed feet of a dodo bird have not waddled upon the earth for more than 340 years. Now is the time to bring them back, say some media-savvy biotech entrepreneurs who just raised another $150 million to develop genome-tweaking tools that could someday allow a species of pigeon to lay a dodo egg. What could possibly go wrong....i've seen movies.

It's going to be cold this weekend, with double-digit below zero wind chills. so bundle up!

The easiest way is to stay indoors! Other than that, the National Weather Service says,

If you have to go out wear layers of loose fitting, lightweight, warm clothes, and a hat. Mittens are better than gloves. Cover your mouth to protect your lungs from extreme cold and try to stay dry and stay out of the wind!

Of course, your furry friends should be inside, and if you have elderly neighbors, check on them to make sure they are alright.
