The widow of a billionaire financier made a landmark donation to cover tuition for students at a New York City medical school in perpetuity.

Ruth Gottesman donated $1 billion to the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx Monday.

Gottesman, 93, is a former professor at the school who studied learning disabilities and created an adult literacy program. She is currently the chair of the board of trustees for the college.

The annual tuition to attend Albert Einstein College of Medicine's MD program is $59,458, according to the school's financial aid page.

Did you know the mansion in "Saltburn" is a real 700-year-old estate in England called the Drayton House?

Well, it didn't take too long after the film's release for tourists and social media influencers to find it to take photos and videos, like dancing to "Murder on the Dancefloor". (as long as they aren't doing it LIKE in the movie.)

The owner says, quote, "I never [envisioned] the amount of interest there would be.  It's quite weird.

"I don't take it as flattering . . . How would you feel if people were taking pictures outside your house?  I'd prefer the interest to blow over but I can't make it blow over."

It's gotten so BAD, he's had to hire additional staff and security to patrol the property because fans are trespassing.  One fan even posted a TikTok with a map on how to get there.

Anyone want to get in the tub?

The latest TikTok trend has people on airplanes wearing their seatbelts around their ANKLES.

It's supposed to be a comfort thing.  You pull your knees into your chest and put your feet on the seat.  Then you strap your seatbelt around your ankles to make sure they don't slide off.

If you're over the age of 25, you're probably thinking, "I'm not that bendy."  And yes, it's mostly a young person thing.  They claim it's comfortable, and a good way to change positions on a long flight.

Anyone who's not totally dense knows seatbelts don't work like that.  If you hit some rough air, your head is in the ceiling.

A flight attendant commented on one video and said planes hit major turbulence more often than you think.

People on social media are talking about the minor (but FRUSTRATING) everyday struggles that they still encounter, which should've been solved by now.

Here are the best ones . . .

Shopping carts with wheels that easily break . . . get stuck . . . or fall out of alignment.  It's a cart.  Even if they're out in the elements, they should be durable enough that they can fulfill their purpose.

TV remotes and appliances with text printed ON the buttons where it can wear off with use over time.  So you just have to remember what they do.

This will come up in a couple weeks:  Having to change the clock in your car when it's Daylight Saving Time, even though everything is supposedly "smart."

The plastic fasteners that hold new socks together.  They can be difficult to remove without damaging the socks.  This goes for other clothing as well.

Autocorrect.  Someone said, "If I typed it, it's what I MEANT to type . . . go ahead and highlight it or give me some suggestions, but to automatically assume that I did it wrong and change it on me . . . is like having my mother-in-law living inside my cell phone."

Having to use a keyboard on a TV screen to enter your email address and password by using arrows and selecting each letter individually. (which keyboard do you like better, typewriter or alphabetical?)

Someone said, "Why can't all power cords on everything that needs to be plugged in, from toasters to lamps to coffee makers to fans, ALL be retractable?"

If you're in your car right now, you will relate to this:  Car horns in radio commercials (or music).  Or sirens.  Why is this still a thing?

A lot of packaging could also be improved . . .

Bacon packaging that can be resealable without needing another bag . . . or cereal packaging with a zip-top . . . and you could also package hard taco shells in a way where you don't BREAK the shells trying to get them out.

Today’s Useless Fact of the Day - You get an invite to a party or something and you need to RSVP - Repondez s'il vous plait. It means "please respond."

But

People in France don't really use it anymore . . . because the language is too formal.
