Tens of thousands of AT&T customers were affected by a massive outage last week, when a botched network update kept people from being able to use their cell phones for up to 12 hours.
AT&T actually WILL credit their accounts. Each person will get $5.00 applied automatically.
That may not seem like much . . . but AT&T says $5.00 is "the average cost of a full day of service."

Landlines, you know the phone attached to the wall have been around since 1876.
Last week with the wireless outage, it showed how useful they were. But how many people have landlines?
According to the most recent estimates from the National Center for Health Statistics, about 73% of American adults in 2022 lived in households where there were only wireless phones and no landlines, while another 25% were in households with both. Barely over 1% had only landlines.
Contrast that to estimates from early 2003, where fewer than 3% of adults lived in wireless-only households, and at least 95% lived in homes with landlines.

The inaugural "Florida Man Games" went down in St. Augustine, Florida on Saturday, and organizers called it a huge success. If you haven't heard of it, it's basically the Olympics for Florida crazies.
Events included a mullet contest . . . a "mud duel" with pool noodles . . . and an "evading arrest" obstacle course, where actual cops chased people down.
The best quote was from a guy named James Gordon, who won the barbecue pork and sausage speed-eating contest. Quote, "I've lived in Florida my whole life. They're calling these 'events,' [but] I'm calling this [friggin'] Tuesday afternoon."

Wouldn't it be nice to have this much time and money on your hands? A Maryland couple broke a world record by going to 135 concerts in a single year. That's one concert every 2.7 days.
They saw Beyoncé, Lizzo, Pitbull, Billy Joel, and over 130 more artists. They say the whole thing cost $18,407, or just over $68 per ticket.

Martha Stewart doesn't wear underwear. Instead, she wears bathing suits in case she wants to go swimming.
She says, quote, "I don't wear any of that structured stuff. No tight lace, no Skims for Martha. But I love Skims. I think they serve a very good purpose, but I don't wear those.
"I only wear Aerie bathing suits under my clothes."

According to a new poll, "Oppenheimer" is the pick of most Americans to win Best Picture at the Oscars in a couple weeks. 24% of Americans think it WILL win, and 21% think it SHOULD win.
"Barbie" is next with 14% thinking it will win, and 12% thinking it should.
"Killers of the Flower Moon" and "American Fiction" are third and fourth in both categories.
Not surprisingly, "Barbie" is the nominee most people have seen, at 32% . . . followed by "Oppenheimer" at 22%.
Interestingly, of the people who HAVEN'T seen "Barbie", only 17% say they want to. And that's the lowest of all 10 Best Picture nominees. "Oppenheimer" is the one most people say they want to see, at 39%.

According to some laundry "experts," a lot of us need to dial it back. If it passes the smell test, you may not need to toss it in your hamper.
Here are different types of clothes and how often to wash them . . .
1. Things you should only wear once: Socks . . . underwear . . . undershirts . . . anything with visible dirt on it . . . and anything that gets really sweaty, like workout clothes. In general, the closer something is to your skin, the more often it needs to be cleaned. Otherwise, it can cause skin issues.
2. Things you can wear a few times. Pants, sweaters, blouses, bras, and pajamas usually don't need to be washed that much. Every three to four wears is usually fine.
3. Things you can wear a bunch of times. The big one is JEANS. Some experts say every 10 wears or more is okay . . . unless you go COMMANDO. If that's the case, wash them every time.
Other things you hardly ever need to wash: Outerwear like coats and jackets, and any dress clothes you don't wear often. Too many washes will just ruin the fabric.
