A young woman near Ottawa decided it would be a good idea to drive her car down a frozen river.
Someone who lives next to the river got footage of her flying by in her yellow car. But that's not even the craziest part of the story.
Her car eventually hit a thin spot in the ice and broke through, so it was sinking in freezing water, and random people had to save her using a kayak.
One guy who helped said you could see her start gathering her stuff into a bag while her car sunk. Meanwhile, everyone on shore was yelling at her to just get out.
She eventually did make her way onto the roof. Then while they were trying to get to her, she just stood on top of the car and started taking selfies.
Luckily, they were able to push a kayak out to her in time, pulled her back in, and everyone's okay. The guy who helped said she was smiling when she got to shore said it was really fun and that she'd totally do it again.
She's facing charges for dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and could lose her license. It's not clear if they plan to tack on other charges too.

Rihanna finally has something on the way...no not new music. She's pregnant! The "Diamonds" singer and fashion mogul, 33, is pregnant, expecting her first baby with rapper A$AP Rocky.
The couple was photographed out in New York City over the weekend, where Rihanna debuted her baby bump while wearing a long pink jacket. Her oversized outerwear was unbuttoned at the bottom to reveal her growing bump adorned in a gold cross with colorful jewels.

You may be seeing more blood drive notices these days. We're currently in the middle of the worst national blood shortage in more than a decade.
This month the American Red Cross announced it had less than a full day's supply of critical blood types and major medical associations are warning the dearth of blood could significantly hurt their ability to save lives. The supply has dropped due to, like everything, Covid, which caused drives to be canceled, staffing difficulties, and a 10 percent drop in donors. (if they are that desperate, maybe they should drop some of their outdated rules for blood donation.)

The smash online word game Wordle has been bought by The New York Times, (for “an undisclosed price in the low seven figures”), which will integrate the daily word puzzle into The New York Times Games suite of word games, creator Josh Wardle announced today.
Wordle will “initially remain free to new and existing players” once it moves over to the Times’ site, and Wardle says that he’s working with The New York Times to preserve players’ existing wins and streak data once the game heads to its new home. That said, The New York Times’ announcement leaves plenty of room for the company to decide to put Wordle behind its paywall in the future.
The game was played by just 90 people on Nov. 1, per the NYT. Fast forward to today, and millions of people play it on the reg.

A Connecticut homeowner accidentally set their house ablaze while trying to thaw their property with a flamethrower, according to fire officials in the town of Seymour. Firefighters responded to the scene of a house fire after 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29. On the way, dispatch learned that the owner had been using a flamethrower to melt ice and snow and “accidentally ignited” the side of the home.
An exterior wall was in flames when firefighters arrived, but it was “quickly” extinguished and the home was saved, according to the post.
