1987 - Whenever You Need Somebody - Rick Astley

45 Years Ago - 1987 Rick Astley released his debut album Whenever You Need Somebody.

Coming from the very successful Stock Aiken Waterman house the album was a smash and we all wondered where that voice came from!!!!

The first single "Never Gonna Give You Up" (yes the rick-rolling song) was a #1 Hot 100, AC, and Club hit. Not released in America so no chart for "Whenever You Need Somebody" and "When I Fall in Love" which fought for the Christmas #1 in the UK.

Back to the US for the next single "Together Forever" again #1 Hot 100 and club #2 AC.
