According to a new poll, more than half of kids have been left unimpressed by a Christmas present and 41% have even been disappointed by a gift that was on their list.
33% of parents admit that they've bought their kids something that they were "indifferent" about, but they say kids are more likely to be disappointed by gifts from their grandparents, uncles and aunts, friends, and neighbors.

A 52-year-old guy in Louisiana named Jessie Terry tried to break into his neighbor's apartment around 2:00 A.M.
He tried to open the back door, and it doesn't sound like he got inside but the woman who lives there called the cops.
He was back home when they showed up, but admitted he did try to break in. And he said he did it because a, quote, "Big Snake told him to open the victim's door and go inside."
It's not clear if he owns a snake and thought it was talking to him, or just imagined the whole thing. But he told the cops he'd smoked a bunch of crack less than an hour before it happened.
It turns out he's got a long rap sheet. He's facing charges for disturbing the peace, and unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, which is a felony.

Love "Golden Girls"? Well there's going to be a first-ever fan gathering called "Golden Con: Thank You for Being a Fan" next year in Chicago during the weekend of April 22nd.
Organizers are "working diligently" to get the last Golden Girl standing, Betty White, to appear in some capacity.
She'll be 100 by the time convention rolls around, and she hasn't been seen publicly in a while, so it's hard to believe she'd show up in person.
But there will be, quote, "guest stars, producers, and others directly connected with the show" plus a lineup of activities like a "Greatest Gift" vendor market, photo-ops, live parody shows, and a costume parade.
Tickets will go on sale at the beginning of the year at ThankYouForBeingAFan.com.

What's the most popular Christmas movie in your state? "The Polar Express", is the top choice in nine states, including Texas, Arizona, Georgia, and Ohio.
"Home Alone", "Elf", and "The Christmas Chronicles" were tops in seven states. And "Last Christmas" is the big winner in six.
"A Christmas Story" despite it's marathon on Christmas day only had one state, West Virginia. "It's A Wonderful Life" was only the favorite in Vermont.
Alaska went way out of the box with "The Nutcracker and the Four Realms", while Montana picks "Trading Places".
New York picked "Home Alone" and Pennsylvania got greedy and picked that along with "Elf."
--
Which brings up the question, Is "Trading Places" really a Christmas movie? Mental Floss dives into ten movies that might not be Christmas Movies.
Including Bridget Jones's Diary, Gremlins, Lethal Weapon, and Die Hard. Let the debates begin.

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - Dr. Seuss invented the word “nerd.”
The first documented use of the word Nerd is in the 1950 Dr. Seuss story, If I Ran the Zoo, in which a boy named Gerald McGrew made a large number of delightfully extravagant claims as to what he would do, if he were in charge at the zoo. Among these was that he would bring a creature known as a Nerd from the land of Ka-Troo.
"If I Ran the Zoo" is one of the "retired books from Suess.
