A new poll asked people: Would you rather receive $1 million today or earn three cents for every step you take for the rest of your life?
About 56% of people said they'd prefer three cents per step. It's probably a no-brainer for grandpa . . . but it's complicated for younger adults, especially the ones who aren't very active.
If you DO get 10,000 steps a day, that's about $300 a day . . . $2,100 a week . . . and $109,200 per year. And in that case, it would take a little over nine years to get to $1 million, but after that, you could keep going.
That's around $195-per-hour walking . . . but some smart finance types say it STILL might be better to take the lump sum now . . . provided you save and invest the money.

Next time you do something wildly embarrassing, just remember you're not alone. Over 15,000 people took an online poll on embarrassing moments to see how common they are. How many have happened to you?
1. Tripping or falling in public? 93% said yes.
2. Texting the wrong person? 83% of us have done it.
3. You try to take a sip of something and completely miss your mouth. 87% said it's happened with a drink, or with food.
4. The door says "Pull" but you push instead. 97% have done it.
5. "Deep-liking" something on social. Where you're low-grade stalking someone and "like" an old post from years ago. 57% have done it without thinking.
6. Mishearing someone and replying with an answer that makes no sense. 93% of us have done it.
7. You're in a quiet room when your stomach growls really loud. 88% said yes.
8. Realizing you've had food stuck in your teeth for hours. 71% have dealt with that shame.

There's some exciting new research out on kitchen utensils and it includes data on how common various utensils are.
More than 90% of people have the basics: Can openers, measuring cups, measuring spoons, and spatulas. At least 80% have steak knives, cutting boards, whisks, graters, peelers, tongs, and ladles.
But there's a drop-off after that.
Only 73% have a rolling pin. Only 69% have a potato masher or a food thermometer. 47% have a garlic press, 43% have a juicer, and only 35% have a mandoline.
They also broke the results down by AGE and not surprisingly, older adults have more kitchen utensils than Millennials and Gen Z.
There are a few exceptions . . . mandolines, ricers, zesters, juicers . . . and especially chopsticks, which has the biggest discrepancy.
60% of young adults say they have chopsticks in the kitchen, compared to just 38% of people 45 and older.

Time" magazine unveiled its 2023 Person of the Year, no surprise it's Taylor Swift.
In the article, Taylor divulged the insane fitness routine she adopted for her Eras Tour . . . which started six months before she hit the road. She said, quote, "Every day I would run on the treadmill, singing the entire set list out loud. Fast for fast songs, and a jog or a fast walk for slow songs."
Her gym also prepared a program consisting of strength conditioning and weights. And she did three months of dance training.
Quote, "I wanted to get it in my bones. I wanted to be so over-rehearsed that I could be silly with the fans, and not lose my train of thought."
"People" magazine released their list of the 25 Most Intriguing People of 2023.
Including,
Taylor Swift
Jeremy Allen White from "The Bear"
Halle Bailey
Ariana Madix from "Vanderpump Rules"
Beyoncé

Julia Roberts was asked what advice she'd give her 19-year-old self. She said, quote, "Stand up straighter. It's all going to be okay, and don't pluck your eyebrows."
Julia isn't the only actress to regret messing with her eyebrows.
Julianne Moore recently said, quote, "The one thing I always say is do not touch her eyebrows. Don't destroy your eyebrows like I did, and countless other women that I know."
And Charlize Theron once said her worst beauty mistake was, quote, "the thin eyebrow from the '90s." And she added that she's still recovering from overplucking.

An enormous, inflatable Santa Claus randomly showed up in a Texas neighborhood called Hollytree . . . about 100 miles east of Dallas. The locals there have no idea who put it up, but it looks taller than a HOUSE.
It's been up for about a week, and the neighbors are delighted and are sending their kids to see it. They say "it's a fun thing to have in their community," because it's spreading Christmas cheer.
