Norman Lear has died at 101.
He was a writer-producer-developer who revolutionized American comedy with such daring, immensely popular early-‘70s sitcoms as All in the Family and Sanford and Son, Maude, and The Jeffersons.
Lear always maintained that the basic formula for his comedies always boiled down to the essential: Keep ‘em laughing.

Wikipedia released its most-viewed English-language articles of 2023, and you'll hardly be surprised to learn ChatGPT was the winner. The English-reading world was also very interested in famous deaths (second-most viewed), the Cricket World Cup and Indian elite cricket (third and fourth), and Oppenheimer (fifth). That's the movie, not the man, whose article ranked two spots below at seventh.

Are you someone who never follows through on your New Year's resolution? You might want to think about starting it NOW.
That's according to Peloton star Robin Arzón, who's doing her annual "3 for 31 challenge" this month. That's where you commit to walking 3 miles or doing 30 minutes on a bike every day in December.
The idea is if you start your resolution now . . . at the CRAZIEST time of year . . . and manage to stick with it all month, then you've got no excuses for next year.
She says if you can do it now and stick with it all month then, quote, "how dare you tell yourself" you can't do it the rest of the year too? In other words, you might prove to yourself that you're more capable than you thought.
