Feast of the Seven Fishes - typically consists of seven different seafood dishes. The tradition comes from Southern Italy, where it is known as The Vigil (La Vigilia). This celebration commemorates the wait, the Vigilia di Natale, for the midnight birth of the baby Jesus. The long tradition of eating seafood on Christmas Eve dates from the Roman Catholic tradition of abstaining from eating meat on the eve of a feast day.

The NORAD Santa Tracker began with a wrong number call.
Every Christmas Eve, the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) adjusts its satellites to track Santa on his journey around the world. The famous holiday tradition all started in the 1950s when a young child accidentally called a NORAD command center looking for jolly old Saint Nick.

TMZ reports - Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce might not be anywhere near the baby-making stage of their relationship, but that doesn't mean others aren't ... and it sounds like folks like their names.
BabyNames.com says searches of "Taylor" and "Travis" have skyrocketed on their site.
Taylor is an English gender-neutral name that literally means ... "One who tailors clothes." As for Travis, another English name that means "From the crossing or Tollgate."

Initially unsure of which orangutan was the father of a new baby primate, the Denver Zoo decided to have a little fun with the results and turned to the paternity announcement guru himself: former daytime talk show host Maury Povich.
Just as he would do on his long-running show, Povich pulled the purported DNA results for 4-month-old Siska out of an envelope and declared: "Berani. You are the father!”
Siska's father remained a mystery because the zoo's animal care team had to wait a few months before Eirina was comfortable allowing them to get close enough to get a hair sample from Siska to compare her DNA against 30-year-old Berani and 16-year-old Jaya.

The misery index — the sum of the unemployment rate and the inflation rate — is ending 2023 at 6.8%. That's its lowest point since the pandemic hit in March 2020 and well below the 8.3% average for the century to date.

Today’s Useless Fact of the Day - There are two towns in the U.S. with Santa names . . . not counting the Spanish, "saint"-inspired names like Santa Monica, California.
There's the unincorporated town of Santa, Idaho, which has embraced its connection to Santa Claus in the past . . . but was actually named after the nearby Santa Anna Creek.
And there's Santa Claus, Indiana, which is home to about 2,500 people. The origins of the name are vague . . . but it's been Santa Claus for over 125 years now.
