National Sandwich Day - the birthday of John Montagu in 1718, the fourth Earl of Sandwich. It commemorates his birth and celebrates sandwiches. Although meat has probably been put between bread since the two foods were invented, according to legend, Montagu came up with the sandwich in 1762, while engaged in a 24-hour gambling event. He wanted to be able to eat with one hand so he could gamble with the other and asked his servants to put some beef between two pieces of bread.
Based on the current definition set by the USDA, yes, a hot dog is technically a sandwich.
Oh but there's so much more to the debate...Read it here from Reader's Digest.

Elon Musk has decided those blue checkmarks on ‘verified’ accounts on Twitter won’t cost $19.99 a month, they’ll cost 8 bucks a month. A ‘new’ Twitter Blue subscription will also let you post longer videos, gets you priority when it comes to searches, mentions, and replies, and puts half as many ads on your feed. Still not paying for it.

Music just hits differently when you bite the piano keys to feel the notes vibrate through your skull, you know? No? You don't? Neither do we, but Thomas Edison did. As someone played the piano Edison, who was hard of hearing, leaned down and bit the piano above the keys to "hear through [his] teeth."
Now a piano seller has identified an antique Steinway that Edison used to own, complete with bite marks. He hopes to sell it to a historical site where people can see the famous chomps.

The Queen of Christmas is ready..all defrosted and ready to serenade you with "All I Want For Christmas is You."
Of course I'm talking about Mariah Carey. The singer posted a playful video to her social media Tuesday ringing in the holiday season, shedding her witchy Halloween costume for a Santa-inspired jumpsuit. "It's time," reads a title card at the end of the clip, which is set to the tune of her chart-topping "All I Want For Christmas Is You."
She has a Childrens book with a young girl named Little Mariah (of course), Two concerts, and she's hopeing to make a documentary for the 25th anniversary of the Butterfly album.
Oh and the holiday continues at home. "When I'm not on stage and I'm in holiday mode, there are rules that I set," Carey says. "I don't care who it is – the kids, if I have guests, whatever – nobody is allowed to play or watch anything other than a Christmas-related thing. If I wake up in the middle of the night and walk into the living room, and the music isn't playing and the lights aren't on, I just can't handle it."
(thank heavens I'm not one of her children..Diva indeed!!!!)

A new poll asked people if rising grocery store prices had them thinking about canceling Thanksgiving, and a lot of people said yes.
One in four Americans plan to skip Thanksgiving this year to save money . . . and that's especially true of Gen Z.
47% of people say they plan to host or attend a "Friendsgiving" this year. They didn't break that down by generation, but chances are that's a popular option for Gen Z, who spend more time with friends than family.
And get this: The most popular main course for Friendsgiving celebrations this year is: PIZZA. 33% are turning Friendsgiving into a pizza party . . . while just 24% are springing for a turkey for their Friendsgiving this year.

Yesterday was November 1st, and also knows as Day of the Dead. which got us a great movie about it…Coco.
A Mexican woman named Maria Salud Ramirez Caballero passed away recently in the town of Santa Fe de la Laguna . . . where she was born 109 years ago.
You may not recognize Maria's name, but her face might be familiar, because she was the inspiration for the character Mama Coco in the Disney / Pixar movie "Coco".
Disney has never actually confirmed Maria's connection to the character, but her family says a team from Pixar visited the area, lived with them for a while, and photographed Maria extensively.
Maria made and sold pots and other items out of clay.

The Useless Fact of the Day - The youngest person to ever bowl a perfect game was a nine-and-a-half year old in Florida . . . she rolled a 300 in 2013. The oldest person was a 90-year-old in California who did it in 2012.
