Target has announced it will be closed on Thanksgiving Day -- not just this year but for good. Target CEO Brian Cornell says the retailer is making a pandemic-era change permanent, forcing back a trend of the Black Friday sales creeping into Thanksgiving. Walmart is also closing for the holiday but hasn’t said whether it will follow in Target’s footsteps in the future.

Chances are you may not know the name Ann Turner Cook. But you probably know her face.

Cook’s now-iconic face has been used to sell billions of jars of Gerber baby food over the last 90 years.

The now-retired high school creative writing and literature teacher and a prolific mystery novelist was only 4 months old when she was immortalized by the family’s close personal friend and neighbor, artist Dorothy Hope Smith. The Gerber baby turned 95 on Nov. 20, 2021.

Pillow fighting is moving out of the bedroom and into the boxing ring when Pillow Fight Championship (PFC) holds its first live, pay-per-view event in Florida on Jan. 29.

Steve Williams, the man with the dream of turning childhood horseplay into a professional combat sport, said PFC delivers all the drama of hand-to-hand combat without the gore of mixed martial arts or boxing.

"It's not something where you sit there and laugh and feathers are flying," Williams, CEO of PFC, told Reuters.

"It's serious. It's hardcore swinging with specialized pillows."

Although the male and female competitors in January's event mostly hail from the cutthroat worlds of MMA and boxing, children will still sleep soundly after seeing the bouts.

"The only difference between our fights and MMA fights is that nobody gets hurt," he said.
