Pepper X has scorched its way into the record books as the world's new hottest pepper, Guinness World Records said Monday.

Ed Currie, the pepper expert who crossbred and grew Pepper X, previously broke the record for the hottest pepper on Earth a decade ago with the Carolina Reaper. Currie developed Pepper X years ago, but didn't release it right away, he said in a First We Feast video posted to YouTube on Monday. He said he kept Pepper X in his back pocket in case any other growers released something hotter than the Carolina Reaper. When no one came forward, he decided to bring out Pepper X.

Pepper X was tested by Winthrop University in South Carolina. It rated at an average of 2,693,000 Scoville Heat Units. For comparison, a Carolina Reaper averages 1.64 million Scoville Heat Units and a jalapeño is around 3,000 to 8,000 Scoville Heat Units. A habanero typically tops 100,000.

He says it's so painful that it would hurt less to consume bear spray.

Taylor Swift is reportedly dating NFL's Travis Kelce.

Olivia Wilde recently shared a post by the TV show Evil's Katja Herbers that said, “I wish Taylor Swift was in love with a climate scientist.”

Swifties didn’t take the post all too well, accusing Wilde of throwing shade at the singer for the romance. Wilde, though, told the Daily Mail she “meant no harm,” adding that it was “obviously a comment on how much attention gets paid to stupid things.” Meanwhile, Herbers seemed kind of psyched that her joke got so much attention, posting on X, “Really digging that the climate crises managed to get into celebrity gossip news.”

Reddit's latest question is about disgusting smells...that you actually enjoy!!

The smell of a mechanics shop, or an auto parts store.

The smell when you first turn on the heat in the winter, which is probably just burning dust.

Farm animals.

Old libraries.

A just-blown-out match.

Gasoline.

Your own underarms, or body odor. Or your partner's.

Fish food flakes.

Nail polish, or nail polish remover.

Chlorine in a swimming pool.

A freshly lit firecracker on the Fourth of July.

Tennis balls.

The notorious durian fruit.

Permanent markers.

The hallways of hotels.

Pungent cheeses.

What’s missing from the list of “disgusting smells” that you like?

A new Gallup poll of more than 1,500 teenagers has found that the average teenager spends 4.8 hours on social media . . . every single day.

That ranges from as "low" as 4.1 hours for 13-year-olds . . . to 5.8 hours for 17-year-olds . . . before dropping back to 4.5 hours for 19-year-olds.

More girls than boys spend at least four hours on social media . . . and the girls who are online spend more time there than boys.

YouTube is the most popular app . . . followed by TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. Next comes "X," or whatever it's called.
