Last Wednesday, everyone's cell phone blared with that emergency alert test. It interrupted meetings and lunches . . . and startled some people . . . but it wasn't that a big deal since it happened to everyone.

Although, it was NOT ideal for people who have a SECRET phone . . . like members of the Amish community.

There are reports online about how some Amish people are being shunned . . . after last week's emergency alert OUTED their hidden cell phones.

A former Amish guy on TikTok says that a few of his Amish friends are dealing with backlash . . . because they had their phones on vibrate, or with the sound off, and they didn't realize the alert would still make a loud sound.

In some Amish communities, this might be a minor offense, but in others being "shunned" is significant . . . and could involve a difficult separation of the person from the community for an extended period of time.

A dentist in Georgia has earned a Guinness World Records title for his collection of 2,037 different toothpaste tubes. The collection includes rare toothpastes from countries such as Japan, Korea, China, India, and Russia.

Dr. Val Kolpakov started his collection in 2001 to learn more about available toothpastes on the market, but quickly realized that it was an interesting hobby. Some of the most unusual tubes in his collection include whiskey-flavored tubes in rye, scotch, and bourbon varieties, which contain 3 percent alcohol. Another unique entry is a wasabi-flavored toothpaste.

A vegan speed-eater has set a new Guinness World Record for the fastest time to eat 50 Carolina Reaper chili peppers. Mike Jack completed the challenge in just 6 minutes and 49.2 seconds. The Carolina Reapers have an average of 1.64 million Scoville Heat Units, making them hundreds of times hotter than jalapeno peppers.

After achieving the record, Jack continued to eat peppers and ultimately consumed a total of 135, earning him the No. 2 spot on the League of Fire Reaper Challenge leader board.

Despite the mouth pain, Jack stated that the stomach discomfort is worse, causing bad cramps that feel like someone twisting his guts.

We found an unusual Guinness World Record that involves a candy you see mostly around Halloween. The record is for the most Smarties eaten in one minute using chopsticks. The world record is 65.

A new study analyzed the phone notifications of young people aged 11 through 17. Researchers found that the median number of notifications per day came in at 237, 25 percent of which were during the school day.

Automakers are recognizing the need for convenient and accessible purse placement in cars. While cupholders, key holders, and cell phone holders have been included in car designs, there has rarely been a designated space for purses or handbags. The issue was more manageable when cars had front bench seats, allowing the purse to be placed on the seat if the center was empty. Now, however, auto makers are trying to come up with clever solutions for handbag placement.

A man in Philadelphia with an emotional support alligator was denied entry into a Phillies baseball game. Joie Henney, the owner of WallyGator, tried to bring the alligator to a game at Citizens Bank Park, but the team refused to allow it.

Henney claims that WallyGator helps with his depression and anxiety and has all the necessary paperwork and equipment, including a leash and harness. Despite his claims, the team stuck to their policies and did not make an exception.

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - In 22 out of the last 30 U.S. presidential elections, the tallest person was elected president. That includes Barack Obama in 2012, who's the same height as Mitt Romney. Both are six-foot-one-and-a-half.
