A dog in Philadelphia kept digging holes in his owner's yard, and his owner didn't know why. Turned out there was an underground GAS LEAK that could have caused a huge explosion. It took workers three days to fix it. They say if the dog hadn't found the leak, the woman's whole house could have blown up. Maybe her neighbors' houses too.

Justin Timberlake is set to make his SNL return on Jan. 27 but not as the hose..as the musical guest. Dakota Johnson will be the host.
There are hints to new music coming.
He wiped his Instagram account clean earlier in January. Since then, he’s also announced a one-night-only show in Memphis happening Jan. 19, the same day that NBC announced his return to Saturday Night Live. Then on Jan. 17, he made a cryptic Instagram carousel post, teasing “EITIW,” which fans have speculated may be his new musical era, as the photos appeared to show the set of a music video, while sleuths on Reddit found a trademark filing for “Everything I Thought It Was…A Sonic Film.”

Here's a list of tips from "Reader's Digest" on how to learn new words and sound smarter:
Watch movies, especially the adaptations of your favorite book.
Listen to the radio.
Read to your children, or nieces and nephews..your dog.
When reading on a tablet, if you come across a word you don't know, there's usually a feature where you can highlight it and see a dictionary definition.
Become an expert on a topic you enjoy. You'll learn new words that you can use when talking to people about your interests.
Stop being a hermit and get out of the house. Going to museums, or new places, will expose you to new words.

Haven't done weird laws lately..Remember, someone did something to get this put on the books.
In Alabama, it's against the law to dress up as a priest or nun unless you really are one. It even applies on Halloween.
Little Rock, Arkansas has a law that bans beeping your horn outside any sandwich shop after 9:00 P.M.
In California, you're allowed to eat frogs . . . unless they died in a frog-jumping competition. Then you can't.
In Colorado, you can't use indoor furniture as outdoor furniture.
In Delaware, whispering in church is technically illegal if it disrupts the service.
In Indiana, noodling, also called hillbilly handfishing, is illegal. You're also not allowed to fish with dynamite.
In Maryland, it's illegal to make, sell, or trade stink bombs.

Today’s Useless Fact of the Day - The fuzzy bear-like Ewoks you see in "Star Wars" were actually inspired by the Brussels Griffon dog breed. George Lucas had some of those dogs as pets.
