Starting in November, YouTube and other Google platforms will require political ads to include a prominent disclosure when they use AI to alter imagery or sounds. A pending bill in the Senate would mandate the disclosures, and last month the Federal Election Commission began exploring how to regulate deepfakes, the AI technology that can make an entirely fake soundbite or video clip of something a candidate never said.

A Florida man faces federal maritime charges after the Coast Guard spent five days trying to bring him ashore from his attempted crossing of the Atlantic Ocean in a human-sized floating hamster wheel that he built himself. It's at least the fourth time in a decade that he's been caught by the Coast Guard trying to pilot a DIY vessel.

In the NFL season opener, the Detroit Lions shocked the Kansas City Chiefs with a 21-20 victory over the defending Super Bowl champions. Two of Kansas City's stars were out for the game while the Lions continued their 2022 momentum under coach Dan Campbell, who is starting his third season at the helm of a team that has historically been one of the league's weakest.

Gatorade has announced a new product. It's water.

The product is called "Gatorade Water," and it isn't a joke. They're trying to tap into the growing "functional water" category, which is water that is "enhanced" or "fortified" for additional health benefits . . . supposedly.

Gatorade says it's an electrolyte-infused . . . unflavored, alkaline water . . . that's filtered with a SEVEN-STEP process. And it contains enhanced pH levels.

Look for it sometime early next year.

Can I make a version at home??? Sports drinks like Gatorade are beverages that are specially formulated to help people rehydrate during or after exercise. Recipeboy.com has a recipe to make your own.

- 8 cups water

-Kool-Aid packet (any flavor)

-1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange, lime or lemon juice

-1/2 cup (you can reduce it a bit) agave syrup (or desired sweetener even honey)

-Light salt (important ingredient– and it’s sold near the regular salt)

-Sea salt (make sure it’s “sea salt.” If you happen to have the pink Himalayan sea salt, that works well).

If you keep count of nutrition label stuff:

5 servings of

74 calories

18g carbs

1g protein

1g fat

176mg sodium

95mg potassium

16g sugar
