Catawbas and Cherokee were some of the first to greet Spanish and French explorers in the 16th century. Their tribes dotted the land with villages. The Englished established the first successful settlement near present-day Charleston. Named Carolina initially after King Charles I, the colony later split into North and South Carolina in 1710. Following in the footsteps of the previous colonies, South Carolina would become the eighth state to ratify the constitution.

Weekend Box Office.
1. Candyman - Twenty-nine years after first being summoned on the big screen in 1992’s horror classic, Universal’s sequel to the now-infamous urban legend scared up an impressive $22.3 million debut at the North American box office, far exceeding expectations and easily sinking its hooks into the top spot.

The poll looked at some of the most common things kids leave uneaten at lunch.
1. Vegetables - 83% of parents make sure veggies are in there. But it's the part of their lunch that they're least likely to eat.
2. Fruit
3. The main part of their meal
4. Salty snacks
5. Sweet snacks (that's surprising)
The poll also found parents spend an average of $390 extra on groceries per child during the school year.

Is it ever okay to save a spot in line for a friend? And what's the maximum number of spots one person can hold?
Someone polled 10,000 Americans, and close to a third of us say the answer is zero. 30% said it's not socially acceptable to join your friend in line, period.
Another 29% said saving a spot in line for one person is okay. And 14% said two.
11% say more than that is still fine including 3% who said you can save a spot for five people or more.
In general, the older you are, the less likely you are to think it's okay. Only 17% of people under 25 said it's never okay to save a spot in line. 38% of people over 55 said the same.

Kanye West's long-awaited "Donda" album has been worth the added wait for the rapper ... it's Apple Music's top album in 130 countries, the most #1 entries in history.
As we reported ... after delaying the release of his 10th studio album for several weeks and keeping fans on pins and needles as he continued to hold "Donda" listening parties, it finally came out this weekend -- but not without drama.
First, Ye posted texts suggesting a recent holdup was due to DaBaby not signing the necessary releases to clear his verse for the song "Jail, Pt. 2" ... but that was later cleared up and his verse was added.
However, Kanye also claimed Sunday that the album was put out by his label, UMG, without his approval and they blocked "Jail pt. 2" from being included ... but it is included on both Apple and Spotify.
