Paul Reubens, the actor best known for portraying the irrepressible, joyfully childlike Pee-wee Herman, died Sunday night after a private bout of cancer. He was 70.

In 1985, he teamed with Tim Burton on “Pee-wee’s Big Adventure,” the character’s feature film debut, which was a critical and commercial success. Reubens returned three years later for a follow-up film, “Big Top Pee-wee,” helmed by Randal Kleiser. The character transitioned to television from 1986 to 1990, on CBS’ weekend morning show “Pee-wee’s Playhouse.”

Today's secret word is sad.

A neighborhood in New Jersey recently lost its ice cream truck . . . after someone complained about the MUSIC.

A Mister Softee truck was driving around playing its jingle like always, and somebody found it annoying. It happened in Blackwood, New Jersey, near Philly.

Someone else who lives in the neighborhood got on Facebook. They said, quote, "Mr. Softee has disappeared and been told not to come back around to our area, because ONE neighbor called to complain about the music."

It's not clear who complained, but the local news heard about it and got in touch with Mister Softee headquarters.

They say they occasionally get complaints like this. And if a driver's been blasting the jingle at 10:00 P.M. or something, they'll make sure it stops. But this was in the middle of the day. And if they didn't play it at all, they wouldn't have customers.

Kids in the neighborhood can breathe a sigh of relief though. Other neighbors got in touch with Mister Softee to complain about the complainer. So now the truck will return.

Women are using it to screen your fitness as a potential mate.

So don't be surprised if an intended hookup subjects you to the Barbie Test.

Here's the deal, according to a TikTok influencer named Nicole Hoefler:

"It's like the new question on a first date or your dating profile: 'What are your thoughts on the Barbie movie?'

"Because if a guy really doesn't want to see it or he's not open to talking about it or, what's even worse yet, if he's seen it and he thinks it's not a good movie or he doesn't get the point, I think it's kind of a no-go."

Nicole's own boyfriend passed with flying colors. Quote, "He dressed in pink. He got all the jokes and moving parts. Afterwards he discussed with me what a masterpiece this movie is and how hard it must be to be a woman."

Some website that sells mattresses commissioned a study that ranked all 50 states according to how sleep-deprived people are.

They did it by looking at 96 sleep-related terms, and how often we google them. Things like "insomnia," "sleep apnea," and "sleep disorder."

According to the results, the most sleep-deprived state is California. And people in Montana are sleeping like babies.

The five most sleep-deprived states are: California . . . Maryland . . . New York . . . Massachusetts . . . and Nevada.

The five states where people are the most well-rested are: Montana . . . South Dakota . . . Idaho . . . Wyoming . . . and Iowa.

Rural states seem to be getting better sleep overall. So if you're not sleeping well, maybe it's time to go out and touch grass.
