World Emoji Day - The most popular are

Loudly Crying Face

Person with Folded Hands (prayer, thank you, high five)

Smiling Face with Smiling Eyes and Three Hearts

Smiling Face with Smiling Eyes

According to a new survey, 41% of people believe every text message needs to include an emoji to be complete . . . or the text feels "naked."

It's more common among YOUNGER adults. 70% of Gen Z'ers say you NEED an emoji . . . compared to 46% of Gen X'ers.

But words are important too.  38% of people say texting just a single emoji is a "conversation killer."

And while adding an emoji to EVERY text may seem over the top, 58% of Americans believe emojis do improve how we communicate digitally.

Wrong Way Corrigan Day - commemorates the day in 1938 when Douglas Corrigan made a transatlantic flight. He had recently purchased a 1929 Curtiss Robin plane and rebuilt and modified it. In July of 1938, he flew it from California to New York. He then applied for permission to make a transatlantic flight but was denied. On July 17, 1938, he flew out of Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn, New York, with the supposed intention of flying back to California. He instead started heading east and flew all the way to Dublin, Ireland. As he disembarked from the plane he said, "Just got in from New York. Where am I?" He claimed his flight had been an accident and he had gotten lost after his compass failed to work.

Yellow Pigs Day - the main focus of the day is on celebrating the number 17. The day was created in the early 1960s by two Princeton math students, Michael Spivak and David Kelly, after they had been working with and listing the properties of the number 17. The days' name likely was a reference to David Kelly's collection of yellow pigs. The day's mascot became a yellow pig with 17 toes, 17 eyelashes, and 17 teeth.

Somebody asked people on Reddit for insider hacks that customers aren't supposed to know about.

Someone with lots of customer service experience tossed out this gem:  If you call a company and a bot answers, drop a few F-BOMBS. The A.I. will flag you as disgruntled and immediately put an actual human on the phone.

That one saves you time.  Now, here are a few more industry hacks that can also save you money . . .

If you offer to pay your therapist in cash, they might cut you a deal.

If you're mailing something to an address that's not far away, always choose the cheapest shipping option. Paying more probably won't get it there faster.

Don't use big websites to buy flowers. It's cheaper if you call a local florist and tell them what you want. Show them a picture from the site if you need to.

Want a bigger scholarship?  Just ask. A high school teacher said several students got between $10,000 and $20,000 more this year by writing to the school before committing, and claiming another school was offering more money.

Get a car loan before you buy. You'll almost always get a better rate if you go directly through a financing company.

Not enough people buy "refurbished" products, like computers. They're essentially like new, and they come with a warranty.

This one's definitely the darkest on the list:  You can rent a nice casket for a funeral, then bury the person in a cheaper one.

There seems to be a new Weird Al song coming Friday.

No one wants to be interrupted or rushed when they're using the restroom . . . but we've ALL been sitting on the toilet, and heard a rap at the door.

Someone just asked the internet, "When someone knocks on the bathroom door while you're using it, what do you say?"

1.  The most popular answer was shouting, "Someone's in here."  Yes, in the THIRD PERSON.

2.  "Occupied!"

3.  "I'm almost done . . . I'll be out in a minute."  Or "Just a minute."

4.  "I'm in here!"

5.  "Yeah?"  This usually gets the point across . . . that someone is inside.

6.  Someone noted that in Japan you're apparently supposed to KNOCK BACK. Which is SO Japanese. Someone else said, "I understand the silent courtesy of their culture . . . but this creeps me out."

7.  A lot of people said they say NOTHING . . . assuming the door is LOCKED.  One person said, "I don't get knocking on a locked bathroom door.  Someone is clearly using it."

Other people claim they have fun with their responses . . .

8.  "Come back with a warrant!"

9.  "I'm with a client!"

10.  "Just finishing up the paperwork."

11.  "What's the password?"

12.  "Who is it?"

13.  Someone said they don't say anything, they just SCREAM.

A lot of things on "Gilligan's Island" didn't make sense . . . but that hasn't stopped generations of Americans from loving it.

Maybe this can help with one big mystery.

Mr. and Mrs. Howell . . . you know, the "Millionaire and his wife" . . . seemed to have an endless supply of clothes.  So why did they pack so much . . . or anything at all, really . . . if they were just going on a THREE-HOUR TOUR???

The show's creator, the late Sherwood Schwartz, explained in the past that it's meant to show how the rich always manage to have the best of everything . . . no matter the circumstances.

So it's not grounded in logic, but it's still an interesting choice, metaphorically speaking.

Also, the Howells were originally supposed to be the ONLY characters with a change of clothes, but Ginger and Mary Ann had a variety of outfits, too.

If you were asked for your thoughts on the best and worst behaved dog breeds, you'd say your dog is best, and the neighbors is worst.

Forbes surveyed 5,000 dog owners . . . 200 owners of each of the 25 most popular dog breeds, according to the American Kennel Club.  The goal was to come up with a ranking of the best and worst behaved breeds.

In addition to general behavior, they asked about listening to commands . . . jumping on people . . . barking . . . begging for food . . . and trying to escape.

In the end, the MOST behaved dog breed was the Labrador Retriever.

Rottweiler was second, followed by Shih Tzu . . . Cane Corso . . . Golden Retriever . . . German Shepherd . . . Boston Terrier . . . Poodle . . . Yorkshire Terrier . . . and Bulldog.

The LEAST-behaved breed was Siberian Husky.

Beagle was second, followed by Havanese . . . French Bulldog . . . Cavalier King Charles Spaniel . . . Bernese Mountain Dog . . . Pembroke Welsh Corgi . . . Miniature Schnauzer . . . Dachshund . . . and Australian Shepherd.
