Singer Mariah Carey is being sued over her enduring holiday smash hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You" by songwriter Andy Stone, who alleges he co-wrote a song with the same title five years earlier.
Stone is seeking $20 million in damages for copyright infringement and misappropriation, among other claims. While Carey’s song was released in 1994, Stone claims his pop band Vince Vance & the Valiants released his version in 1989. Mariah Carey’s rendition has turned into a perennial Christmas classic, topping the Billboard Hot 100 chart every year since 2019.
Um...you can't sue over a song title..they are completely different songs.

Alec John Such, a founding member of Bon Jovi who played bass for the rock band from 1983 until 1994, has died at the age of 70.
"We are heartbroken to hear the news of the passing of our dear friend Alec John Such," the band wrote on Twitter, adding that Such was "integral to the formation of the band." When the group reunited in 2018 to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Such said of his Bon Jovi bandmates, "These guys are the best. We had so many great times together and we wouldn't be here if it wasn't for those guys. Love them to death and always will."

Goodbye, Sidney. Neve Campbell won't return as Sidney Prescott in the upcoming sixth Scream film, making this the slasher series' first sequel without its iconic final girl. "As a woman I have had to work extremely hard in my career to establish my value, especially when it comes to Scream," Campbell told Deadline.
"I felt the offer that was presented to me did not equate to the value I have brought to the franchise." When unconfirmed rumors previously suggested Campbell wouldn't be back, fans were disappointed, though some supported the idea of giving the character a rest considering her story seemed fairly wrapped up. But Campbell's brutally honest statement suggested this wasn't a creative decision as much as a classic contract dispute. And if Paramount thought it was going to underpay the Sidney Prescott, she had only one thing to say: not in my movie.

A U.S. quarter featuring the image of the late Cherokee Principal Chief Wilma Mankiller will be unveiled June 6 with a celebration in Oklahoma honoring her move from activist to the first female chief of the Cherokee Nation.
The quarter features a portrait of Mankiller, wrapped in a traditional shawl with the wind at her back, and the seven-pointed star of the Cherokee Nation. It spells out Cherokee Nation in the Cherokee syllabary.
It is the third quarter released by the U.S. Mint in a series honoring prominent American women.

n 1993, crayon-maker Crayola conducted an unscientific, but intriguing poll: it asked US children to name their favourite crayon colour. Most chose a fairly standard blue, but three other blue shades also made the top 10 list.
Seven years later, the firm repeated its experiment. Again, classic blue ranked in the top spot while six other shades of blue appeared in the top 10, including the delightful sounding "blizzard blue". They were joined by a shade of purple, a green and a pink.
It is commonly believed that as children enter their teenage years, their colour choices take on a darker, more sombre hue, but there isn't much academic research to support this. Adolescent girls in the UK, for example, have been found to be attracted to purples and reds, while boys favour greens and yellow-greens.
we have favourite colours because we have favourite things.
